I did OTA update when I got home from work yesterday (and I'll admit I left a couple hours early to play GTA5 >_> ). It took a good while, not to download, but to verify the install. It failed like 6 or 7 times then finally installed properly.

I am really liking it, except for the new sounds. =(

I feel like they updated the radio firmware or something here as well, because I haven't lost a 3G signal yet in side my building; maybe I can actually use my phone at work now!

I feel like a bit of neanderthal with how much trouble I have opening the control panel. :\ My friend told me to start my finger from the home button instead of the bottom of the screen, and it's the only way that I can get it to open at least consistently. Oddly enough, I have no problems with the notification center.

Also, why did they remove the double-tap from the lock screen? I used to use it to start playing music again that had been paused. Now, iOS 7 leaves the music on the lock screen for a few minutes, but after that, you have to open the control panel (argh! :|) to get it to play again. Frankly, I think double-tap should open the control panel at the lock screen.

I just messed with the control panel, and you really do have to start low to get it to slide up. If you start at the half way point on your bottom bar icons, it won't work.

Sadly, Spotify app will stop playing after like 10 minutes if the phone is locked, so I generally unlock it to change songs. The lock screen music controls being gone won't really effect me.

I found the faster I swiped the easier it was to open. It is very particular. I can't do it with either thumb, it has to be an index, and the motion has to be really fast. I'm glad I'm not the only one having a problem with this. I thought maybe my Otterbox was interfering in some way, as it creates some height between the home button and the screen.

Anyone run into the issue with txts coming back to yourself if sending to someone sharing your apple id?

Have a user here who sends a txt msg to another person, with a different phone & number, but they share the same apple id. Since upgrading to iOS 7, when sending a txt, it pops up in the convo as if she sent it to herself, so everything is in duplicate.

Does ichat now send messages to all devices signed into a single apple id and not bother excluding the device your sending from?

Is this a bug or a new "feature"?

That's probably your issue.

The whole time I was using iOS 7, I was using a glass screen protector and the gap between the home button and the screen was pretty steep.

I had my phone replaced last week because of the power button and, with the screen protector off, had no issues at all with the control center. I had really forgotten just how flush the home button was with the rest of the device.

I put on an invisible shield for now and am again having some slight issues with bringing up the control center but nowhere as bad as when I was using the BodyGuardz Pure.

Really cool stuff! I like how social media lights up whenever there's a major IOS update, yet no one really cares about android updates. Lot's of satisfied people out there, "it's like I got a new phone!" One of the major reasons I love the apple ecosystem is that I know that I'll be taken care of when it comes to upgrades for at least 2 years - post ios7 I'm pretty happy with my 5 and have no desire to upgrade to the 5s, but look forward to spending my $199 on 6.

So, the more I've messed around with this, the more I am liking iOS 7. It really feels like a more polished version of some of the handset customized Android UIs, but without all the slowdown and extra junk. It retains enough of the iOS familiarity so not to be hard to do things I know how to do, yet it is different and refreshing enough, it feels like something new.

I think they did a real good job.

Your case might be in the way. I swiped very slowly and it showed up. Your finger has to start off the screen first.

Most Android devices aren't compatible with the newest updates. But there was a huge deal made about the Kit-Kat tie-in.

Most new Android features are baked into the apps themselves, which are updated year round. Not having to wait a whole year for improvements has been nice.

Does the app store look any different?

Vastly different. It has the new theme, as well as some new tab for 'near me' that, I guess, finds apps for places near you.

Sadly, with automatic updates, I will probably open the App Store once every 4 or 5 months when I want to try an app I hear about. I do so little on my phone. I don't even check my email anymore on it.

I just tried updating my phone and when I got to the Hello screen it asked for my passcode and it did not work. I had to call technical support as no passcode I entered worked and my phone became disabled.

Now, I am going through all this crap again. This is the second time an update has messed up on an iPhone.

Sweet, they have a Bold Text feature in Accessibility...no more skinny fonts!

I like the skinny fonts mostly everywhere except the home screen. The text under app icons is too hard to see.

I wish it only affected certain areas.
