ne ip35p...

oops... long day... looked like an e in the pic...

very odd that one pic looks like an e, and the others look like a pro...

looks like the individual pics on ne are wrong... the box pic looks right... abit site

looks like it's just the new version of the e with official 45nm and 1066mem support...

You're right about those pics. I noticed as well on those pictures that the motherboard box says IP35 Pro.
I'm pretty sure that the "P" in IP35-P doesn't stand for "Pro", does it? If so, $74AR is definitely hot for this!
I think Newegg's screwed up on this one, eh?

Looks like the pics are wrong for the "P" model. The differences appear to be that the Pro has (over the "P") two PCI-E 16x slots (one 4x electrical) and RAID capable Southbridge. Without the proper pics though, I don't know if the "P" has the same cooling solution.

The additional mosfet cooling on that would help alot on a quad core. The PWM on my E got super hot under prime load.

I read a post by an individual which claimed he had 2 IP35 Pro boards fail due to overheating PWM because he was aggressively OCing a Q6600 . I also read what appeared to be a somewhat "personal" review (or it could have been a professional review site, but it was in the UK and I was unfamiliar with the site) of the IP35 Pro (VERY well done with slots of screen shots and the guy REALLY seemed to know what he was doing) and he said the PMW got really hot when modestly overclocking a Q6600 (~85 deg C).

So it may be an issue with the ABIT IP35 in general.

it looks nicer than the e actually.....bling

Are you kidding...this board really looks like the econo line of Abit. The E has better sinks and is much nicer looking...but then again, who cares about looks...if it works...great.

yep, I have an IP35 and IP35 pro and the PWM can get hot if the OC is over 3400 MHz with a Quad. Dual core temps are way lower.

solution: get some air moving over the PWM area. I dropped the temp on my IP35 as much as 20C by putting a fan on it.

1 review at newegg refering to cold/double boot issue

good deal if it were not for the boot issue

so if abits and gigabytes (bios setting retention) are having all sorts of problems, then which p35 mobo are good ? MSI, Intel, Asus

that's funny, my pwm is at 53c running seti 24/7 in a 26c ambient room. Running at 3.6 on an x3350. I know that the 45nm quads are cooler, but...

edit: btw, the ip35p is a much cheaper mobo than the ip35e. I've been looking to add a 3rd abit and have steered clear of the ip35p. it doesn't have as good cooling as the ip35e on the mobo itself, plus iirc the power regulation is weak as well.

that problem was solved long ago

Agree with Tweakin... the IP35-P looks like an economy board similar to the IP35-V they tried to push several months back.

Go with the IP35-E or Pro instead. Newegg even had the IX38 Quad GT for ~ $130 recently as well. Otherwise choose a different board maker.

Thanks !!!

I'm using a Cooler Master Hyper TX2 on both my IP35-e's. It has a rear duct that directs the air right over that heatsink. I'm even smarter than I knew .

I agree with the statement that this is an econ P35 (like an Asus P5K SE). You'd be better off with a IP35-E if you can find one or hope it comes by again. (BTW, anyone get their rebate back for that board?)
