iPAD 2 Push Notifications Help!!!

Recently, I just bought a new iPad 2 and have noticed that my push notifications work maybe 10% of the time. I use apps like Yahoo Messenger and IMO messenger and the messages only go through 10% of the time. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm on the latest OS version, with all notifications on, the 'push' slider is on, and i'm fetching every 15 minutes.

EDIT: Interestingly enough, when I set my ipad's IP address for DMZ everything seemed to work. I also heard that setting the DNS server to googles public domain (8.8.8.8) also fixes this issue but I have yet to try. Its just annoying that apple makes you fool around with the router before you get push notifications. I can't get any notifications on my gf's network but her Galaxy Tablet notifications work flawlessly. Is this just an issue with apples notifications??? Or is it an issue with my iPad and should i go for an exchange?

I've actually had the EXACT same problem. I think its a router problem but i'm not 100% sure. Maybe I should exchange my iPad as well :S. Does anyone know any fix for the push notifications? Its very annoying not getting any updates. Thanks!

Push notifications are not 100% reliable. And they seem worse with the last "battery fix" update.

I've had no problems with Push notifications. I don't think I've ever had a time when they didn't come in (maybe where I didn't have signal).

I've always had mixed results with push notifications from IM clients. But since the "battery fix", my email and game badges rarely update.

And I'm always on WiFi so lack of connection isn't the problem.

I'm always on Wi-fi as well, but I think the problem lies within the router settings. I've used a galaxy tablet 10.1 on my network and notifications work perfectly. Something that apple does doesn't allow notifications to work properly unless you enable your device for DMZ. This way it will give it un-restricted access and you receive all push notifications. At least thats how I think it works. Anyone try changing the DNS to 8.8.8.8?

Now that you said that, I take that back. I always have problems with IM+ on my iPad not giving me my push notifications.

My IM+ barely works with push notifications. I think I might just sell my iPad and move to android tablet. I haven't had any problems with my gf's tablet on my network although the frame rate between switching windows is much slower. I hope apple fixes the push notifications soon

I am also using IM+ but haven't had much better luck with palringo. My guess is these apps send out huge amounts of notifications and are being throttled in some way.

No issues with textfree.

I'm not sure if its a problem with the apps or with apple services. Because when i changed the DMZ setting in my router to allow access for the iPad everything seems to work. However, I can't get notifications at the gf's place unless i change her router setting. I don't want to have to change a router setting everywhere i go for wifi, lol.

Hmm. I am going to give the DMZ a try. I have had issues with iPad notifications as well.

Let me know how that goes. Its actually worked perfectly for me using DMZ. I just dont like the fact that if I go to my gf's place, i'll have to put my ipad on DMZ on her network. Her android tablet doesn't have any notification issues, lol
