Went to BB today to look at one & was blown away at how thin it is, I mean really, it's so thin, I don't see how they managed to get everything in the case...

Talked one of the yellow shirts and he said they had 150, all sold/spoken for in minutes (they were handing out tickets), he said they haven't had lines like today since Black Friday.

I have a gen 1, and will likely wait till gen 3 is released, or get an 10" Android tab later this year...

There was a Clearwire rep there, trying to sell 2 year contracts for it's portable hotspot, I asked him if he knew their CEO, CFO & COO resigned yesterday, he looked like I just kicked him in the balls...

If you need screenshots of games that "take advantage of the iPad 2's graphics processing power", count me in.

Line was crazy...

Sold out almost everywhere here in NYC (Queens). I wanted to get one today so bad. Anyone have any idea how often they get shipments of these? I don't want to order online and wait 2-3 weeks.

They typically have more on the 2nd day, worth a shot, another alternative is to hit BB to see if they were all picked up, the guy @ my BB said to stop by after 8pm & see if there were any leftovers...

Anyone know of any screen protectors for this thing? I wasn't impressed by the "smart cover" and the Apple guy said they didn't have any.

I can't believe there was a line at my store...crazy.
We won't get our display models in for a few days though.

Aik, Zagg sent me an email saying theirs is available for pre-order...not sure when it will be fully released.

I like BoxWave ClearTouch Crystal screen protectors for the screen and Zagg Invisible Shields for the back. The iPad 2 has the same screen shape and dimensions as the iPad 1 so BoxWave's ClearTouch Crystals for the iPad 1 will fit the iPad 2. Not sure how it will affect the front camera though.

OpenGL Extension Viewer:

CPU speed: 1000MHz
Bus speed: 250MHz
Renderer: PowerVR SGX543

And since it is guaranteed to be a dual-core design, this means it packs way too much power for its own good. (read: a lot more than Tegra 2)

1080p mirror output works in-game as well, and no 3D game has put any sort of dent in performance thus far. This thing eats Infinity Blade and Real Racing 2 HD with improved graphics and AA for snacks even with 1080p output.

I played with one today a the Apple store after dinner and I have to say, that thin performs and looks great. I've only owned iPhones and after being on the CNN website I'm going to have to say, flash support will not be a bullet point for long considering websites that now embed videos and media using html5. Games too! I'm gonna have to pick one of these up for surfing around the house and for a PDF binder at work

Indeed. If the NGP turns out to be even better than this, I dare say it might just surpass PS3.

Back to iPad 2, I did notice a yellow blotch at the bottom of the screen in black backgrounds. It's not really that noticeable anywhere else.

It has gotten a bit smaller than I remembered last. If it doesn't go away, I'll just go out to the Apple Store and replace it when stock goes back.

Well it's not real 1080p which is why there's not performance hit but yea.

It is real 1080p. Otherwise portrait can't be displayed at 768 x 1024.

In any case, benchmark results are in.

XOOM doesn't even come remotely close to the graphics performance of iPad 2. And the margin between iPad 1 and iPad 2 is even wider.

It's kind of insane how much the difference is. Apple really didn't mince words when they said 9x faster graphics.

What's that you say, the iPad can output 1080p? Well sort of. The iPad can mirror its 1024x768 display in 1080p but it still won't decode 1080p H.264 videos, and we don't know what type of TV you have, but we'd bet ours does a little bit better job of scaling than the magical iPad.

Being able to decode 1080p videos and being able to output to 1080p are two different things. Your GeForce 7150 GPU can display 1920 x 1080, but it can't decode 1080p.

Plus it's true 1080p, pixel by pixel, not upscaled. That means there will be an annoying black areas on the HDTV as the iPad mirrors its display resolution out to exactly the same pixel count.

If you want to scale, you have to use the HDTV built-in controls.

The yellow spots might be the same issue as the iPhone 4's with the glass bonding adhesive not fully drying. Most reports had it disappearing after a bit of time.

Wow I just saw the article Anand did on the GPU, it makes the Xoom look like a 2 generation old device graphically.
