Ipaq H4155, $382.49 @BB B&M, YMMV may be OOS

Hey Everybody,

STolen from the brighthand forums, and from personal purchase. the Ipaq h4155 is on clearance (or so they say) at Best Buy B&M for 382.49. Normal price $450.

Includies SDIO and built in Wi-Fi (which is supposed to be very good).

Pretty darn hot deal, if you want an excellent PDA. The trick is finding a local store that still has them in stock. the Burbank BB still has a handful in stock.

NOTE: these are for the floor models only. They have them at my store, and I would have bought it...but I see how much people abuse those floor models.

I found a better deal on this same unit via a coupon direct from HP...and I ordered it. But I ended up cancelling the order after the "back order" games...

Good deal though!

Everyone should notice that Best Buy should be clearing out several of their PDA models. They are consolidating their selection in a move to offer more "Entertainment Oriented" devices in their Wireless/PDA departments.

I got a non-floor model for $382. It was sealed, unopened, brand new unit .

Hence why YMMV.

Go to hp.com. Click on the government & education link. Go to faculty & student purchase. Choose your state and college. It's $404.10 there. PM for a $50 off coupon for the education site.

Hence why I said YMMV ... They were willing to sell the other new one for $382, as well...

And that is a very good deal on the ipaq at hp.com with educational/government discount, if you qualify .

P.S. Versus the Axim X3i, which IMO is a very good unit, the Ipaq is lighter, thinner, has a better, less obtrusive shape, and a slightly better screen. Is it worth the extra money, that's an individual decision.

I just got one of the 4150s.
This is my 3rd Ipaq (6th PPC).
This one has a major bug which HP is not even aware.
If you get into a WiFi network and then turn on the Internet Explorer, the IE freezes (or tap on the home icon of IE while browsing).
You can no longer browse, until do a soft reset.
Major bug.
Avoid it for now.
Everything else is OK. It is fast as hell, browse fast with Wifi, yet, don't turn IE on after Wifi, do it before get into WiFi.

I am sending mine to HP for service, just like the 1910 I had last year, It had frozen screen problems.
I don't seem to learn from my own expreriences.

Watch out for HP PPCs..
They market devices before testing well.

i can fire up IE after connecting to a wifi network without any problems... I have only had to soft-reset mine once, and that was after playing with xCPUscalar and o/cing it.

PS. In fact, i just used itask to close everything, then soft-reset hte unit... Immediately connected to my home wifi network, then once it connected, i jumped into IE. Browsed fine. Hit the "home" button in pocketIE... Then went to browse some more, likewise worked fine.

So maybe the problem exists in most, but it probably doesn't exist in all 4155s .

Deals depend on location, as not all deals are available in all areas. Pittsburgh has only the ipaq 5555 listed.

OK. It works now, after one last Hard Reset before shipping to HP.
I hope it will continue to work. Cross my fingers.
Now I ned to get the extendedbattery when it gets cheaper. WiFi sucks the battery in 1/2 hour when watching streaming video.
I think this battery issue will be the major problem in this kind of technology for years to come.
WiFi+Media=small battery time.
