I ordered my first iPhone and I am looking for a good case with screen protection.

I was either looking at this or this.

What do you as a current iPhone owner use?

EDIT: Thanks for the feedback everyone. I ordered a Rebel from switcheasy.com.

EDIT2: Received the black rebel and it is very nice. I am satisfied with the purchase. However, it is a pain in the ass to apply the screen film on without any particles getting under it and creating bubbles. The manual also didn't mention that the tool used to get rid of bubbles SCRATCHES the film. So I have scratches all over the film, but good thing it comes with two.

I didn't like the elan form when I had one for my orig iPhone.
The leathery stuff kept peeling off the plastic (they replaced it once.)

I like the Cozip polycarbonate cases on amazon

I picked up a set of $10 anti-glare screen protector films from Fry's and one of those Incipid "Feather Case" things they have on sale for $5 at my local AT&T store for my 16GB 3G. I think 3G and 3GS share identical exterior dimensions?

i use the incase protective cover (in black, but with tons of other colors available) for my 3GS and it was $30. it covers the chrome too so if you drop it screen down, the case will catch the fall!

however, my dad just got the incipio feather for his 3GS, and while its pretty damn thin and light, it does NOT cover the chrome on the front, so if you drop it screen down, say hello to scratches!

edit: forgot to mention that 3G accessories do fit the 3GS because they are the same size (fortunately), so dont worry if it doesnt specifically say 3GS!

i also got the power support anti-glare screen protector ($15 - expensive, but i wanted it the same day and their quality is very good) for my 3GS, and my dad uses the glossy/"crystal" one that came with his incipio feather.

i used the air jacket by power support on the 3g, and i'm gladly using it again on the 3gs. the thinnest, most unobtrusive case you can get and it includes 2 protective films. being thin, it does tend to crack, but it did a great job keeping my 3g in pristine condition and i expect it to do much the same for my 3gs. go with the clear one, not the black one.

im using the griffin reveal...i like it. i also bought the incipio feather at ATT for $5 (it's barebones; case only). I'll let you know how it is. My bro in law got the frog lux case and I like it. I just prefer clear cases so i can see what im protecting.

One other issue with the $5 Incipid feather case from AT&T is that if you're unfortunate enough to get the white one the case itself is privy to dye bleeds from your jeans. My current case now has a bluish tint to the white and while alcohol cleaned off the darker stains with ease you may want to think about buying a couple more "just in case".

I don't have a case (or a 3G) but I've heard good things about the Incase slider and the Speck Candyshell.

A couple of my friends have the Incase slider, for the 2G and the 3G, and I really like they way it looks. There are stories about it scratching up the phone, but I think thats just if you keep removing the case.

I'm thinking about getting the Candyshell when I upgrade in the next couple of weeks.

I'm using the InCase Slider and I like it a lot. It doesn't cover the front of the phone (it does cover the "chrome" on the sides) but works fine with screen protectors (I have the Invisible Shield on the front). I did have an Invisible shield on the back too but it collected dust in the corners and creases like no other. The surround around my camera lens was a bit loose and it ended up with an eyebrow. I haven't taken it off yet since I put it on so I can't comment if it scratches the phone, but I don't really expect any issues. It has 2 strips of a soft rubber material on the inside to stop the phone from sliding so it's pushed up a bit.

I got the Agent18 Clearshield. I like it, looks good with the white iPhone. Tried to "rock it naked" for about a week but started picking up a lot of scratches on the back. Since the phone has to last for 2 years I had to get a case for it.

I'll let you know how it is when I get it. The 3G/GS phones seem a lot slippery to me then my original phone which is why I am deciding to get a case for my 3GS

QFT. I bought a rebel last year when I had the 3G and still use it now with my 3GS. Super solid case. And I normally hate cases.

I like the rebel too, but the screen protector + rebel is a little sketchy because the case pushes on the edges of the screen protector causing very slight bubbles I have to smooth out constantly. Even so, it's the only case I haven't wanted to toss in the garbage after 2 hours.

yep, same here. I flung my 3g across the room into a wall (on accident, didn't know my phone was on the blanket ) and it was perfectly fine.

I got my rebel serpent the other day and have to say its one of the nicest cases I've ever owned. Its very light weight and solid all around. I do agree with Torpid with the screen protector as I do have some bubbles on the screen. I have been contemplating just taking the screen protector off totally and going naked on the screen.

Well worth the $30 I spent on it.

otterbox, the heavy bulky one. I take the survival of my iPhone above all else, they are damn expensive to replace.

As an update, I just got a 3GS and actually went with the Contour Hardskin. So far I really like it, except that it traps lint on the screen cause the case prevents brushing it off (since it covers the bezel). The soft touch is awesome.

Picked-up a black Griffin elan Form at Marshalls for $7. They also had the Reflective for $10. The case and hard protective screen are nice but the leather on the back of one corner has already started to peel off the case. Will exchange for another one and see if I have any better luck.

Also at Marshalls, I picked-up a Griffin car charger for $13 and a couple of white usb sync/charger cables for $5/each.
