Let's be honest here, as easy as it is to critique these pictures, and considering it's the lowend of photography technology it should be, these are very impressive pictures. They actually look passable from a distance.

I'm actually wondering if, as the camera module in the 4S is from the same manufacturer and generation as the module in my Galaxy S2, it would be possible to later upgrade my own camera phone from scraps of a broken 4S.

The night shots look horrible in all 3. And in typical Sony fashion, the Arc blurs away the detail and luma noise, while leaving boatloads of ugly chroma noise - and this is supposedly a good camera phone?

It looks like a great phone camera to me, though that only puts it on par with my $250 Olympus P&S from the year 2000.

Took it to a concert for the first time this weekend. Pictures were kinda meh. Some of these are digital zoomed (should be obvious). Will I ever find a way to capture pics at concerts? Sigh

Without any type of optical zoom any camera is going to suffer :\

If you're not close to the stage, pretty much any camera is going to produce bad results. Your best results are going to be something that has a fast shutter and low aperture.

It's a really fun little camera - snap, edit, post! Sort of like speed Photoshop - play with filters, tweak curves, brightness, contrast, temperature, etc. with your finger. I don't get my T2i out every day, but I do get my iPhone out every day, and having the ability to edit & post on-camera is such a huge convenience that I just shoot ALL the time. I'm up to 400-500 photos a week now, just on my iPhone. Maybe a little *too* convenient
