Iphone 5 battery experience

I am getting an iphone 5 as a gift soon. Wondering what is the general experience with battery life (on 3g, no LTE in India). My current phone is a WP8 Lumia 720 which has very good battery life. My previous phone was a Gnex which had very poor battery life. Can I expect a day and half battery life on the iphone 5 (I get close to 2 days with the 720 on 3g)

Its all relative to how much you use it. I can be on mine quite a bit using LTE for hours and ill get almost a day of battery out of it. If I hardly use it, I bet I can get 2 days out of it no problem.

This. It all depends. On airplane mode you can get 7 days of stand-by. On regular stand-by with an average config (1-2 email accounts, a reasonable amount of apps with notifications), a normal depletion rate is about 3-4% per hour, so you'll get somewhere around 30 hours of battery life if you didn't touch it. Use the phone, and you'll be hard pressed to get more than 15-16 hours of battery. Use it heavily, and you may not even make it until the end of a full day.

With light use and no signal (literally 2g in my building =( ), I can make it the whole day and be at around 20% at night. With full signal and light use, I can generally go all day without hitting 50%.

Totally depends on how you use it. On 3G it will be good. The best part of every iPhone I used is just how fast they charge. If for example you need to leave home and discover you have low battery. You can put it on the charger for 10 minutes while you get ready and it will be at 30-40%. That will get you through dinner and drinks easily.

If you put it on for 30 minutes it will be almost full. So if you charge it in the car for an average commute it will get through your work day.

I only have my experience to go by , but I'm on LTE about 75% of the day, and mostly use it to browse, and Google Navigate. But my "USAGE" is typically about 6 hours, and standby about 12-16 hours before it starts to get near death.

It makes it to through the day almost always, beats my old 4S.

I get around 2 days between needing to charge mine. I text more than voice lately. Three hours of phone calls will almost suck it dry. My old LG NV flip phone could go 2 weeks between charges.
