why do we have one of these threads every two weeks? jeez.
My iPhone 5 is on the way. I'd avoid the GS3 and look at the LG Nexus
please tell him why he should avoid the gs3 and go with a 3g phone with no sd slot?

The iphone 5 is still the top competitor against the GS3.
I don't get why "iPhone has no chance against the GS3" statement.
One of the really main things I like about the Iphone is that it has iMessages. It is so well-integrated that anyone can just use it without downloading any apps between iphone's.

I thought I would want / miss an SD slot. Even with the minimum-capacity i5 (16GB), I really don't miss the SD slot.
Storage performance is crazy-fast. I don't have to manage where applications and data go and everything syncs automatically with my other devices via iCloud.
I tried iTunes Match for music because $25/yr seems like a really good deal. I own LOTS of real CDs. It matches most of my downloaded / ripped music to a high-bitrate iTunes version and uploads the rest to Apple's cloud. My phone can stream all the music directly from the cloud or I can download specific songs / albums to make sure they're always available (though streaming hasn't failed me yet).
I could live without an SD card but right now I'm DL a bit torrent on my cell and now start storing lots of movies and video clips.
Like I said I could live without it but no 4g data on the new nexus is a deal breaker in the USA.I can't rec that cell to anyone I know for the fact that its running 3g
Has it been confirmed anywhere that the US versions carriers will sell wont have LTE? Or is this more Internet hearsay you're spewing as fact? I'm not aware of any rumors regarding carrier released versions. Of course the unlocked model will come without LTE.
He said LG Nexus. The Nexus will probably be sold by Google directly and won't have LTE.
ATT has the LG Optimus G with LTE. There is no reason for them to carry the Optimus G and the LG Nexus 4, since they are the same phone almost. So, yes he is correct the Nexus won't have LTE but the regular Optimus G will.
From what I've seen online the next nexus is 3g cell.
I would be incredibly surprised if they sell a non-LTE phone in the states. I have mixed feelings about Internet rumors. I've had many afternoons laughing at how much life a bad rumor can get (when I knew what was really true)
Poweramp. Awesome app.
Well the nexus that is coming out in a few weeks is deff not lte and the leaked specs don't show it as an lte device.
Why would Google even bother not launching it with 4g off the bat is a mystery and the roumrs are saying maybe a lte device will come up in a few months
Put me in the "denial until it's officially released" the idiocy of that magnitude is too great for me to believe.
This. The Nexus that Google sells directly will most certainly be HSPA+ only. It's too difficult at this point to make an unlocked LTE device that can cover everything.
What we don't know, however, is whether its launching on any carriers. If/when it launches on a carrier, it will most likely have that carriers LTE spectrum covered.
I have both but if I could only have one it would be the sgs3. It just does so much more than the iPhone 5.
