Let me know what other tests you'd like to see. Suffice to say, though, the A9 is a monster.

Mine is still on the truck, sadly it is also a 6s (not a 6s plus) and I would like to see benchmarks for both.

1700 on kraken is just sick. That is faster than a large portion of desktops. Almost as fast as Surface 3 Pro. Bye bye Intel. This is basically solid proof that Intel is sandbagging. They could make faster chips, but they just wont.

In real world use this phone is ridiculously fast. Web pages render very quickly and 3D gaming so far is crazy smooth.

Wonder how much Metal is responsible for this, overall not just CPU oriented benches, also Intel's in real trouble now

Doubt it's just metal because I moved from an iPhone 6 to the 6s and things are appreciably quicker.

No, not just metal but it has to be playing a huge role in getting the best out of that A9. Not to mention the fact that safari, or even chrome on iOS, aren't as fast as the native Blink engine that the latter ships with these days i.e. the web results could've been higher.

i dont know why there is so much hype over this soc, the old tegra k1 denver on an old 28nm proces scored around 1900 on single core in geekbench..but it trashed and i believe still does the competition on gpu wise...now with a newer process node, say samsung 14nm and with maxwell gpu it could be easily the fastest soc on the market with a wide margin...

Umm, because there is no Tegra on 14/16nm atm & the A9(x) is the fastest SoC, by a wide margin IMO, inside real products :\

Denver was good at Geekbench but it wasn't as strong across the board. K1 Denver edition also didn't fit into a phone.

The reason that th A9 is so exciting is that Apple will be putting this crazy amount or compute power into the pockets of millions of people.

performance on those benches is really close to my main desktop (apart from 3dmark), and better than all the other 3 PCs I have at home lol

Google Octane 6s

iPhone 5s: 7256
iPhone 5: 3158
iPad Air 2: 11362
iPad 2: Crashes

All running iOS 9.1 Beta 2. I'm surprised the iPhone 6s beats the iPad Air 2 so handily in this test. Safari and the bench aren't great for utilizing the extra core(s)?

Javascript is a single threaded task really. Don't know about other browsers but Blink's DOM/layout engine is multithreaded though.
