Just got my iPhone 7+ (Jet Black, Tmo), so haven't had a chance to test it out much vis a vis the network switching thing.

Get a skin on it immediately. Trust me.

I forget which phone it was, but I trusted a case to protect the phone's finish, and the case allowed the dust/grit to destroy the finish. I didn't take the case off for several months, and was shocked at how jacked the finish was, ever since then, if it has a delicate finish, I use a skin and a case.

How do we report this to Apple or our Carrier to fix the issue?

carrier version 26.0 will fix this issue... the only way to get it currently is, using 10.1 beta 2

if you don't want to muck with beta iOS versions, a workaround is disabling VoLTE (go to settings=> cellular, then where it shows LTE for Data and Voice, change it to Data only)

I've been considering that, or an ultra-thin clear TPU case. It's hard to find the case that I'm looking for though. A lot of them have little bumps on the back (detracting from the perfect visual of the shiny blackness), or have refraction problems (so there's a rainbow effect). I also use the edge swipes A TON in iOS and 3d touching at the left edge to invoke the task switcher, so I would immediately perform surgery on any case I got anyway, to trim the lip in the front.

As for a skin, do you have any recommended brands for clear skins? They won't properly cover the corners though, right?

I have no intention of reselling this device for actual money. I'm on the Upgrade Program, so in a year I'll likely just hand the device back to Apple so I can get the 2017 iPhone.

I took perfect care of mine in an Incipio NGP case. 2 weeks later, I took it out of the case to run some 3Dmark performance tests that would generate a lot of heat. I noticed the terrible speckles that do not wipe off:

I like Best Skins Ever http://www.bestskinsever.com/. Dbrand is popular too https://dbrand.com/iphone-skins. There's a ton of manufacturers. Some do the corners very well.

They've been around forever (best skins ever) and have glossy/matte options. If a grain of sand gets in between the case and the finish, it scratches the heck out of everything.

Although, there's not much of a point in getting the Jet Black iPhone 7 if you're just going to put a skin on it. Why not just get the matte black and only use a case?

I wouldn't mind getting one of magnetic mounts for my car, but I absolutely will NOT put a piece of metal on my bare phone. Putting on a clear skin would all me to stick the plate to that, and then it can be removed cleanly. But, I'm undecided about all that.

It's only a few dollars, you can get a gloss skin or a matte skin. Don't understand your point.

I just have to say that even though I had my silver bareback for weeks, it's still pristine. I have a case on it now though.

I wonder if it will polish off. Maybe 3M imperial hand glaze. Or one of their plastic polishes if you want to start mild. They work great on cars/plastics.

TMobile just adjusted my bill for the last trade in for an iPhone 7+, they took a 16GB 6+ with a dent in the back and a red spot on the screen and credited me $649 for it, out of pocket for the upgrade was $55.82. That was a great deal.

I hope they do the same thing next year.

How did you do that to your 6 Plus?

No idea, it was my son in law's phone, poor guy had it in a massive Otterbox case too, something dented it through the window that shows the logo. It was a couple years old. Had I known about the dent, I wouldn't have traded it, he mailed it to me, I was more than a little concerned TMobile would reduce the trade in value and charge me hundreds extra. Really happy they took it in the condition it was in, and even gave me full value for it too. I traded in 3 old iPhones for the promo.
