iPhone and iPad require pin to enable touch id every morning - is this normal ?

It is like the iPhone or iPad restarts every day by itself because it requires me pin to enable touch id.

Is this normal ?

Does anyone else have this problem ?

Or you fail the touch ID a couple times, or after a couple days.

Wonder if its possible you have the stored somewhere that the touch ID is reading an attempt to access it and failing?

This is actually a new security feature that Apple introduced several months back. iOS now requires you to enter you PIN when touch ID has not been used for the previous 8 hours.

Not quite, it's that condition plus not entering the passcode for 6 days, not just 8 hours without touch ID unlocks. So that can't be the OP's scenario because he has to enter it every morning. There is some kind of a bug that says you must enter your passcode after 48 hours even though it's been nowhere near 48 hours since the last touch ID unlock. This seems to happen sporadically every once in a while to me. Might be happening every day to the OP.

So if you steal someone's iphone and chop their finger off, you have to make sure to use the finger to unlock the phone every 8 hours or else you will have to go back and threaten to chop off more fingers to get the pin?
