I walked into a store on Sunday and got a 256. So far I like it but I wish it was physically almost the same size as the plus. Feels too close I’m size to my work iphone8.

i can pretty much get a prebuilt i7 and gtx 1070 gaming rig for the price of an iphone x
I could buy a car for the price of an iphone.

I could fly to Hawaii and back for the price of an iphone.

I could cover almost 1/2 my mortgage for the price of an iphone.

Yes they are. They've been available for 2 weeks as of tomorrow. The general consensus that I've read is buy a decent case and a screen protector or prepare to cry if you drop it. Oh, and buy AppleCare if you get it from your carrier.

The thing is... this isn't an iPhone X issue, but rather an iOS 11 problem as I've seen similar problems on my 7+. I still stand by that iOS 11 is probably the buggiest software that I've seen come out of Apple in a long time.

Let's be real here... usability is part of why we buy these phones. Phones are so entrenched in our daily lives that having your phone screw up on you can be a huge bother. We just want it to work.

I'm still on iOS 10, haven't upgraded yet...half the people I know are still getting horrendous battery drain issues on iOS 11. Although 10 is full of random bugs too...probably 1 out of 10 times that I use the camera, it just freezes & doesn't show a picture (this was an issue on my 5S as well).

I'm on my third iPhone 7 (bought new, Verizon replaced with a refurb, then another refurb), which is still problematic (drops calls all the time, proximity sensor works when it wants to, etc.). It's the worst iPhone I've had since my 4S with the purple camera lens flare.

I like the idea of the X, but in practice, not so much. I just checked in with my buddy who got an X & he has decided to swap it out for an 8...just with little things like not being able to tap a physical button to check things & having to tilt it towards his face have proven to be annoying. I'm not sure if I'm going to replace my problematic 7 with an 8 or wait until next year with the X 2.0 comes out.

Despite the glitches & problems, I still don't want Android. I still don't like how they handle updates & continuing support on their phones (everyone complains about Apple deprecating the iOS support for older phones, but at least you get regular updates to stay on the current software platform for a few years!) & I loathe their security model. Granted, iOS has its share of issues too:

The phone is crazy slippery. I've always thought glass is less slippery than anodized aluminum because of moisture in human skin, but this phone just slips out of hands left and right. Nevertheless, after a short 30 minute of testing the X the old designs of 6 and 6+ do look antiquated - the former's screen appear cramped and the latter's body appear nonsensically chunky. So there is that. I was not impressed with the amount of battery drain of X (admittedly a single sample from the store floor) during those 30 minutes, though.

Just got an iPhone X from my parents as a birthday present. I spent 2 bloody hours just to set it up. Using this thing is actually quite tolerable if I delete all the stock apps and replace them with chrome, google maps, gmail, drive ect

I really hope they don't sell so well at this price point. I want a more affordable version next year.

Next year they will cost 30% less. I had the same when I've purchased the 7th last year. I've used nothing except browser, youtube, camera and maps for several time.

The removal of the home button and touchid is the main (maybe only) reason I have zero interest in the X. If they trickle this usability nightmare down to the "normal" iphone next year it's game over with me and apple phones. It's a shame because I'd really like an oled screen. As it is I'm thinking of jumping on the 8 with the walmart black friday deal since my 6 has gotten intolerably slow.

I was skeptical at first too but I love FaceID and the no home button.

Back and forth back and forth.
I don't know about me. I've been switching back and forth between iPhone and android the last few years.
I just got the Google Pixel 2 XL, had it a month, and now back to the new iPhone X.
This iPhone X is very nice I have to admit.
I like the "swipe" instead of that awful button. Android users just might cross over to this X model now that Apple has went to a swipe system, which is common on android.

The X has a screen that fills the entire phone and I could tell the power difference inside this phone right away vs the seven plus or the pixel 2.
This is a incredibly responsive phone and really fun to use. More so than the seven plus that I had had before and the Pixel 2.
This brings apple into an entirely new age of phone design. Well... at least for apple.
Hopefully they will stick with the swipe vs the button and finally allows expanding the screen to full side to side, which is how the X was designed.

Honey of a phone.

What do you mean Android swipe system is common?

Is it just my phone or do others find iOS 11 to be buggy? One time I went to the setting app to switch on WiFi and then have the back button disappear on me for no reason. I needed to force close it to reset.

Chrome is also an issue. Taps and links become unrespensive at times. Wonder if this OS related or just issue with the app.
