Nah, tmobiles new network wont even be in full swing until 2020 and by then all the phones should be compatible.

They won't. Has to be under their recall for it to be free. If you're willing to pay, a battery replacement through the Apple Store is only $40.

I just installed a replacement battery in my iPhone 6. The process was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be, other than getting the actual battery out. The sticky tabs ended up breaking off so it took a while to get the battery out. I ended up using a hair dryer to heat up the back of the phone and gently pry it out with a credit card under. It took like 4 different heating up attempts so that process took a bit. But other than that trouble, it was like a 10 minute process.

It's sitting at 40% now with the new battery (what it was when I turned it on) so I'm waiting to let it die completely then I'll charge it fully. Hopefully this solves my battery woes and can hold me for 2 more months.

My wife's iPhone 8 Plus shipped today. Says it's overnight shipping but not scheduled until Friday. Says it's already left the fedex origin location too so I don't know if they will just hold it until Friday or not.

LOL HERP DERP! There is big red letters on the fedex tracking page that states "Per shipper instructions, package will not be delivered until the scheduled delivery date." so that answers that...

They hold for delivery dates, but occasionally one will slip through. Back in 2014, I got my iPad Air 2 on Thursday night, the night before everyone else in North America got it.

Yeah I think the last time T-Mobile rolled out some new bands, the 5s couldn't support it but the 6 had it, which I ended up upgrading to.

I wonder if T-Mobile's Jump on Demand would be worth it with the new iPhone.

When I did my wife's iPhone 8+ at 3am EST, I did it through verizonwireless.com through the upgrade process. If I remember correctly too, I didn't have to even enter credit card information because I did the monthly payment so it was pretty quick for the process.

It also started like 3-5 minutes early. I refreshed around like 2:57 and it was live. I plan on being up at like 2:45am tomorrow and get the X for myself. Apparently they are extremely scarce due to shortage of parts for the FaceID stuff, and apparently Apple even lowered the bar as far as QA goes on them to get the amount they even have now, so hopefully it actually works and isn't garbage. The good thing is that it's pretty easy to return phones if it's within the early time frame if it sucks and you don't like it. Or it'll be easy as shit to sell for retail price.

People say that every year but it just hasn't been the case lately. Ebay eats 10%+ and usually you can only make a couple hundred profit. If that's worth your time then go for it. For me, selling phones have always been a PITA.

I think the rumors about shortages are much more plausible this year given they delayed the launch date so much, and sales of the 8 have been meh. Worst case scenario I'll get the IPX and just use it since I'm on a 3 year old iP6+ now.

Even if you wanted an X, I would get it (if you can) and immediately resell on Craigslist or something with no fee. Definitely there's going to people willing to overpay a lot for this phone. And this time there are supply issues.

The upgrade process was rather annoying for me. The website just wouldn't work correctly, because I'm on the old Verizon Unlimited plan that allowed for an upgrade at 50%. Well, the website kept trying to make me pay for the phone outright, which isn't a bad thing, but it's not what I wanted to do. I was able to do it on my phone though, but I might have also sold my soul on one of those small menus.

Hm, the pre-orders don't seem to be pushing back too far for being on sale for about half an hour. The Space Gray is the most popular with the 64GB at an 11/10 delivery date, and 256GB at 11/15. Silver seems to be a bit less popular with 64GB at an 11/3 delivery date (no delay), and 256GB at 11/10.

I suspected the dates to be a bit worse given the hubbub over the restricted stock.

Looks like they are 4-5 weeks now. I was able to place couple of orders on apple website about 15min ago and they are scheduled for 11/17-11/24.

T-mobile website never worked for me. Still not working, but I am done with my orders.

Verizon had started accepting orders few min earlier.

AT&T had a queue going on at 12:01 PDT and it was a ~5min wait. Currently, it shows 35min wait.

No iPhone for me. I knew that they only sold carrier locked phones on day 1, but I didn't know you needed your account details. I'm in a family plan with my folks, didn't have my dad's SSN. I have account privileges, but it wouldn't take my SSN. Fail.

It will be interesting to see how back logged they get. If Apple is able to keep up with orders and the secondary market is meh, I won't feel so bad.
