All the "Android users surely must like an iPhone clone" S6 does is remind me of how shitty 2014-2015 flagships were besides the iPhone 6S.

Notice how the S7/S8 sold much better after they put in waterproofing, dual-SIM and microSD?

Whats funny to me is that Samsung went full Apple with the S6. They removed several key features- waterproofing (ironic as hell since the S5 was without removing features) SD storage and removable batteries. It was the phone that pretty much proved to anyone paying attention that "Hey we have to remove all these features you like to make it waterproof" -even though its not- and "Hey, don't worry about battery life! It's THINNER!" was pure nonsense.

At least Samsung corrected things somewhat. Apple meantime- sure glad they added waterproofing and SD storage to the iPhone 7- except of course they didn't. They removed the headphone jack. Who needs all this usefulness in their pocket? These are just near $1k fashion statements, not useful tools.

Wow. You are the first to make these observations.

Good job! You should be an industry analyst.

Well, the truth is, Samsung makes very mediocre devices... Their specs only look good on paper, but do not work well in real life scenarios. Samsung likes to "cut corners" and "make sacrifices" to achieve something else. The most annoying place where Samsung does this, is sound. Samsung phones have very cheap, crappy speakers, and even worse earpieces. Don't believe me? Just take an iPhone, even an iPhone 4... And make a speakerphone call side by side with the S8 or Note 8. You'll quickly see that Samsung sound quality is greatly inferior. If you say otherwise, you are either in denial or just a stubborn Samsung fanboy.

Yes, all those stereotypes about Apple are true, however, Apple is all about quality, and Samsung is all about cutting corners and saving money here and there to make their device look overall great in other areas.

Even when we talk about battery life... Yes, certain Samsung phones may beat the iPhone in battery life, but this is only true in the 1st year. As time passes, the iPhone's battery stays in good shape longer, when Samsung battery quickly deteriorates.

All that crap about more ram and more CPU cores on Samsung is useless, because Samsung doesn't really do much with all that power. Apple squeezes every ounce of performance out of their hardware while Samsung stays sluggish in certain areas. What use is an 8 core CPU when a 6 core CPU handily beats in in real life scenarios?

It's like AMD vs Intel... You got all these multi core AMD CPUs, but very often, dual core and quad core Intel CPUs beat them in most real world tasks. Especially gaming.

You can defend Samsung, Android and AMD till you are foaming at your mouth, but the fact is, Apple and Intel are just... better.

I'd be with you on Apple's hardware being better in performance, but it always takes Apple forever to catch up in terms of features to Android, including Samsung's. How long did it take for OLED, wireless charging, night mode (Night Shift), fingerprint readers, larger screens, front-facing speakers, widgets, and more to arrive on the iPhone? If Apple were that good, they'd be "getting it right" sooner rather than later.

Also iOS' UI/UX sucks. It may have speed going for it, but it will be inferior for as long as they keep it locked down (no launchers), offer limited customizability, and don't have proper theming. The lack of a real night mode (inverting colors in accessibility doesn't count) was a non-starter for a long time for me. Even now I don't like that you can't easily and arbitrarily adjust icon sizes and arrangement, or tweak the homescreen to the extent you can on pretty much every Android device, even without root or custom ROMs (and with root you can do pretty much anything to the look of the UI). Also, I still think the translucent bokeh effect of "ModernUI" (or whatever it's called, I'm not sure it has a name) is ugly, even after they toned down the pastels. Not my favorite implementation of flat design (RIP, Windows Phone ).

If you like Apple's walled garden approach, that's perfectly fine, but saying Apple and Intel are better... well, that's just like your opinion, man.

I'd love for Google to bring back Google Play Edition devices! The Pixel 2 won't have expandable storage, and rumored not to have a headphone jack. I can deal with not having expandable storage, but the headphone jack is a deal killer.

I know what you mean, but all I can tell you is that in my area I didn't see many keypads that supported the tap to pay method until Apple got on the wagon as well. Then the stores upgrading. Maybe they supported it, but it wasn't a dedicated pad or labeled as such, all I know is that almost everyone supports it as of a couple years ago. Only Best Buy really had it set up earlier around here.

Oddly enough, I think Walgreens has the best system out of all of them I've used. It's very quick, never gave me any issues with having to place my phone in the sweet spot, and lets me punch in my own phone # for rewards

I thought more stores started supporting NFC payments because they had to update their readers to support the new (for US..) chip cards which became the law in 2015?

yeah. No headphone jack and $900? Heck no. Once my N5x dies this will be the first time I don't get a "google phone".

Nice to see this place hasn't changed.

Why do we even have these discussions about iOS vs Android anymore. They both accomplish the same thing. If you like iOS there's no real incentive to switch to Android. If you like Android there's no real incentive to switch to iOS.

And the first time I saw this graphic three years ago (http://www.product-reviews.net/wp-content/uploads/iphone-6-vs-nexus-4-haters.jpg) i chuckled. Now it just seems like pathetic lashing out because an Apple launch draws attention that Android device launches just can't seem to muster. This one is just eye-rollingly bad.
