But but but, he only got it because he got such a great deal! People that talk about how amazing is simply because they are Apple are just as bad as the people that talk about how horrible Apple is just because they are Apple.

Actually i got it for free from my job.

But wouldn't that make you a kiddy with an iDouche product regardless? If you stuck to your anti-Apple convictions you would have flatly refused the monitor.

/Just sayin'

With the iCloud announcement I kind of wished I had a new iPhone and an iPad, but yea, I am not going to spend that kind of money for some ease of use, and gee-golly syncing, though it is actually kind of a big deal.

The answer to "why iphones and pads?"....... Compatibility!!!
All "i" devices work together like pea's in a pod.
iMac's, iPhone's, iPad's, all get along like the children in the film "village of the dammed".
Not only do they get along, they watch out for each other.
The more apple stuff you use, the more you want.
If your iPhone works great, and you love your iPad, why not continue the love affair moving to an iMac? Make sense? Besides, a lot of schools have apple computers.
There is a reason for that... And a reason kids lov the iphones.

Um yea, I can toss down $700 on a Verizon iPhone 4 at a whim, and I can also toss $700 on a Verizon Android, Windows 7, or WebOS phone.
Heh. In your case, I don't doubt it. Meanwhile, the smart people pay $200-$300.

I've built my fair share of PCs. Tinkered with Linux etc but not I prefer macs. I slowly lost interest in building pcs after having to sit in front of one for 8-10 hours a day.

I first got a Macbook Pro, an later an iphone and after that a new Imac. I still have a Computer running windows 7 because that was the last one I built about 5 years ago. I find the Mac to "just work" and the only intensive thing I do with it is photo editing.

The mac track pad makes using the who user experience way better than any PC and until there is something comparable than I doubt I'll go back. The iphone is infinitely more polished than any Android device I've seen because Apple controls the hardware and software.

No sense in being chained to your contract when new phones comes out and your old phone retains huge resale value.

Maybe because Apple devices are just easier to use? Over the years I've been noticing that a lot of tasks that you would do an Apple device, whether that be the phone or their laptops, is easier to use. This has been my experience at least and I've been building PCs since 2000.

I don't hate apple products, I hate the iDouches out there. It's a technolgy device, not a fashion statement. I know the line is blurry with the younger crowd as since time began they are into the fads and fashion. I know a few people who love apple products and arent douchey. They are my age, mid 40s, and like the "it just works" mentality but they arent sitting in starbucks writing there novels drinking $5 cups of joe. They arent all giddy with excitement because the iPhone9 is coming out and camping out for 2 months to be one of the first trillions to get one on the basis that its just coming out and really having no clue what it actually does. I own several generations of ipdos, an iPhone 4 just for using Netflix on my pillow as I go to sleep, a 15" MBP which is my main laptop for casual browsing and email checking, a 20" cinema display because it uses the same panel as my 2 dell 2007FPW displays and I can use the 3 monitors on my main PC for playing highend games. Aside from my ipods I didnt buy any of the mainy apple products I have. They were either giving to me from various jobs, or, in the case of my iphone 4, I traded a laptop for it as I have tons of laptops and wanted a small device to play netflix on while I fall asleep and the iphone 4 fit that bill. It gets no other use as I use my android vibrant for everything else smartphone wise. If it did netflix I would never have gotten the ip4. I don't hate apple (I do sorta dislike steve jobs as many apple diehards also hate him) but I really hate the mainstay apple douches. I am also really starting to dislike the android douches who go on a rant on the apple douches. Basically I just hate what I call "Trendoids", those who love something and become total douches for no solid reasoning at all. It's like when I was a teen in the 70s and 80s where it was disco vs rock, the gap vs levis and so on.

I find this comment interesting... mostly because you never say why you would go with a Xoom over the iPad... or heck, any other Android tablet like the much-loved ASUS Transformer.
F!!!!!!! i forgot about the Asus Transformer!

You are just a "tool". And there are millions out there like you and they buy iStuff because they are tools. Its really that simple. All the kiddies out there with their iDouche products are all fad tools. "It just works" is the ultimate tool answer to everything apple.

not liking apple products because lots of people have them is much stupider than liking apple products because lots of people have them.

it's completely pointless.

I buy Apple products because I like them. I like the OS, style, feel, how the app store is run.

I'm leaving Android to go back to the iPhone because of the same reasons I don't like windows.

Just because a person likes a iOS or Android doesn't make them stupid. It's personal preference.

I am someone who went from Android to iOS. Why? Because it works. Way back in the day, I used Windows Mobile phones, bought my first one in 2003. WM sucked hard, but with some tweaking, it was bearable. I went to Blackberry for a year (dont ask) before going to Android. What I saw with Android is exactly what I saw with WM. Each hardware version needs to be optimized for the OS, so who knows exactly when, if ever, your phone will be updated. Sure, I rooted and ran custom ROMs, but the carriers and manufacturers are locking down phones, so that's not really an option. One of the very first apps I put on my Android phone was a task manager. I looked around for the best free task manager and downloaded it from the app store. Problem was, I downloaded a task manager that had a very similar name to the one I was looking for, and since I didnt read the terms and conditions of the app, I failed to realize it signed me up for a $10/month text messaging service automatically that took over 2 months to finally completly get rid of all the messages and charges. When I buy an app from Apple's app store, apps dont sign you up for stuff automatically. If something requires a subscription or in app purchases, I have to authorize that app, not just have some little blub in the terms and conditions that I frankly will never read anyway.

If an when there is an Android phone that works with my carrier that will allow me to update it in a timely manner of a new OS release that I don't have to worry about being useless before I can get another subsidized phone, I'll go back. At least with my iPhone 4, I don't have to worry about software updates for a couple of years. I know I will get iOS 5, and by the time iOS 6 rolls around, even if I can't update my current phone, I will at least be able to get another subsidized phone.

My neighbor has a android phone and people give her a lot of shit about it because they have iphones. And what she always tells them is that it can do just as much as your iphone can. Thats how i see it too. And people have such a stiffy for iphones. Its a smart phone, they have been out for a while. I know that android phones aren't the best, but both Microsoft and Android have been stealing market share from Apple. When my dad first went to go get his HTC Trophy he couldn't even get it. The store had a line down the street for the Windows Phone since it just got to Verizon and everyone wanted one. He then just decided to order one, because the wait was like 4 hours in the line. And that was like 2 days after it released. I also read up online at my neighbors, that the Windows Phones are even easier to use then Apple phones, UI wise.

What problems were there? I didn't actually keep up with the iPhone launch on VZW. I know the deathgrip still is there, but what other problems arose?

there was a thing on a news site abot coverage/network issues with the Iphone the week iphone was with Verizon. Everyone thought nice its with verizon no more dead spots for AT&T. Nope same problems, and could make calls. I think its figured out now to a degree.
