I think what he meant was who in their right mind would return the best MP3 player on the market. Unless there was a problem with that particular unit.

That's an awesome price you got it for...but I guess that's needless to mention.

Nuts, I'm late. This is what I get for not checking ATHD before lunch! I'm going to the Chicago store after work.

They had two at my store, both 5GBs, and they wanted $269!!! I reminded him that it was an open box Mac Ipod and he basically told me to get bent.

I'll gladly pay $100 to anyone for a 5gb ipod (mac or windows, windows preffered).

BTW yea seriously YMMV, as the store that is within sight of the CompUSA headquarters always has their clearance items at RETAIL prices. I even saw a obviously used power strip (must have been used for several years with all the dust on it), in their clearance which they were selling for $25!

Its' NICE to put the exact location you just tried to find it Contribute whatever way you can. Geeesh
Also were these "open box" ipods near the regular "retail boxed sealed" Ipods?
If not where is the "clearance rack" most likely situated? back of the store?

The PC user who buys the Mac version because the sales guy said it works with a PC, but didn't fill him in on how to use it that way.

My sister was just at the 5th Ave CompUSA and said they had 5GB for $100 and 10GB for $150. After she bought me one, she said the 5GB is like $70 but then theres a $30 fee that allows you to return it, and something about it beind tested and works. I couldn't really understand her since she was on her cellphone heading to her Express Bus. She'll be home in 2 hours, and I'll post back...

CompUSA sucks the big one! I just went to the Chicago store (Rush & Chicago) at 5:30 pm, and they told me they only had two iPods left. BUT they would not sell them to me because "their margin for today would be too low if they sold them today." They said to come back tomorrow.

<Begin Rant>
<Insert Expletive here> CRAPUSA! Like hell, I'm never going back. They count Margin on a daily basis? What kind of crap is that? Why not just sell what you can, when you can, and just calculate monthly averages? Or was the manager just BS'ing me?
<End Rant>:|

I was in San Francisco looking for the $1.88 air zinc batteries when I overheard someone ask a CSR. None in SF. I didn't notice any on the clearance tables either. I always check the clearance tables. From my experience CompUSA clearances are very YMMV. Each store manager determines the price for that store.

Ditto that. I checked the San Bruno store (close to San Francisco, but not the SF store) and they didn't even HAVE a clearance counter.

Meh. I'm going to wait and see how much Apple drops prices.d
