So iPod owners are "slaves to advertising" who "want to make a fashion statement"? Maybe they just prefer the sleek interface over features and sound quality. In my opinion, a simple interface is far more important than minor differences in sound quality. This is, after all, a portable player. You're not going to get audiophile quality from ANY portable player. Background noise also tends to negate small differences in sound quality. A simple interface -- one that I can understand immediately and use without looking -- is a higher priority for me when it comes to selecting a portable player, and I think that others feel the same way. That doesn't make us "slaves for advertising"; it just means that our priorities are different from yours.
Regardless of this debate, the original poster's question was "What should I get engraved on my iPod?" not "Need advice on an MP3 player." You've made your opinion of iPods more than clear, so please stop trolling in this thread and let this argument be.
ok I edited the topic so this is open for anything. Thanks for your input about the interface... that is the one thing that no one has really adressed here- the ipod is still by far the easiest to use. I have one more quesion- are there any players out there that support gapless audio? thanks.
