iPod - education price?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this,
But I've heard about an education discount for the iPod. I'm in College, and was wanting to pick one up. Who honours this discount, and where can I get it?

Dell has conveniently run out of stock of 10/20 gig models with their new crappy knock-off iPod clone, and Amazon refuses to ship it to Canada (strange...), so does Apple do this themselves?

And for the bonus question - what is everybody's favourite case-coverer for it?

Educational discount on apple products seems to be from apple only.

Looks like you can get anything with the discount, some stuff is limited in number (ie: only two systems and two displays per year)

My price for ipods is 269/369/469 for 10/20/40gb models.

How do I check Canadian schools? This is US-only, but my bro-in-law got it for my sister, who goes to BCIT (in BC).

Not sure, call up Apple and ask. Also check the website for the school, I know that's where I found the link to the site for my school.

I imagine the discount is pretty much universal, I don't see why apple would give a better discount to one university over another

For some reason they do give better discounts depending on the school, don't know why but up at chico my buddies on average get a 10-15% discount on most things, while I only get a pretty much standard $50 or 5%.




Also you can try contacting your school computer lab/bookstore/apple rep sometimes they have a deal of the month type thing or they can offer you a better package deal, I know you are looking for just an iPod but it couldn't hurt.

Yeah I would say ask your school book store even if it isn't a computer store, some schools sell software and all sorts of goodies. The trick is to know where to ask. If the Check out person doesn't know ask for a manager

Yeah... talk to your school store... at Purdue.. we get Panther (Mac OS 10.3.. the latest version for all you non-mac users)... for 50$..compared to an educational pricing of 69$+tax and a full price of 129$+tax.
But then... we also get MS XP Pro and MS Office XP for 5$ each... talk about catching them young

My friend's school's store has Windows XP for $20 and Office as well. Mine? Office is $200+. Nuff said.
