iPod Nano: Black or White

i just cant justify a 200 mp3 player for its size.

IMHO, personally, its so freaking small, I might actually lose it.
I wont even notice when it fell off my pocket if at all.

another thing, IMHO:
pockets: we usually put a wallet, keys and a cellphone if at all unless you perfer the belt attachment for cell phone.

why not go with a PSP?
Just because of its size? Well I will go back to size with nano. With the PSP, a tad heavier like a cell phone but you know its in your pocket. You will know if it fell. Since we dont put much stuff in our pockets, why not the psp, espically with the price tag.

200 = ipod nano
200 = psp with 32mb

itunes - unknown price detail for 1,000 songs
psp 1gig sandisk = 75 or
acer 40gig external hdd = 120 + usb cable conveter from acer to psp = 10 total 130
or combo acer + usb + scandisk memory = 200 + psp 200 = grand total 400

with acer, your walking around with literally 40 gigs worth of music in any format, movies in any format, pics, and games.
with the psp, you can play back the current mpg4, avi, midi, wav, mp3, possibliy divx (still has bugs with homebrew scene), roms, emulators, hell even PSP sony ISO games that are currently out if your a pirate....
have it all in your 40gig hdd, and with 1 gig memory stick, switch it the stuff u need freely, ANYWHERE..
so either you got a 41 gig MUSIC player or a multi-functioning gadget that imho outperforms a mp3 player anyday with the current price.

sorry, not a sony fanboi, I do hate sony but this PSP is remarkable, until mp3 players drops thier cost significantly, I see no justification.. unless someone educates me in the reasoning of why ipod is so huge.. than pls inform my "IGNANT" a$$

Well, for $400 you can get a 60GB hard drive based iPod. It plays back AAC , Protected AAC, MP3, MP3 VBR, Audible, Apple Lossless, WAV and AIFF. And that's just out of the box. There is also a homebrew iPod community that has managed to get Linux on the iPod (they even got the old Doom and a few emulators running). A 60GB iPod is going to be a heck of a lot easier to carry around than a PSP+40GB external hard drive, with the added bonus that you don't look like a huge dork carrying it all around with you. You also don't need to use the iTunes music store to fill your iPod - you can simply rip your CDs through iTunes (or rip using another program as MP3 and transfer the songs via iTunes).

Also, most PSPs I have seen are running $249 MSRP, not $200. If you compare that to the 4GB Nano at the same $249 MSRP, you'll have to spend another $300 to get 4GB worth of memory sticks to get the same storage capacity. Even though you can play games and movies on the PSP, you are looking at spending at least $550 for the same music playback capability.

in reality, who the hells needs to walk around with over 250 songs?
I have almost 200 songs, since I work 10-12 hours, I actually manage to almost finish all the songs. But chances for, for normal usage, or normal WORK usage, 8 hours... 200 is suffice..
change the music at home while recharging..

still, the psp homebrew is getting stronger and stronger with all the coding aabilities we have already.
as far as walking around with it.. everyone still thinks I have an ipod.
my 40gig external HD is with me but stays inside the car or backpack until I actually do need it. i dont literally carry it with me.

Since the only good usage is at work when i need to change some music around or to show off my new anime music video.
Or right when I take my break, I delete some music off, throw in an anime episode and enjoy.

other than that.. Plane, Bus, train. to me more effective.
psp = ipod + more.
Id rather walk around with a "big" item that I could feel it in my jeans versus a nano I wouldnt notice it fell off and I bitch later on, I lost a $200 smal gadget.
Thats the gimmick of nano.. we all lose something to a trip at the movie theaters.. we always felt our wallet fall....
