Ipod Nano

2 of my kids have ipods and they both use the same computer. Both of them have bought music from itunes but only one of them can upload the music they bought. The other gets a text box saying this is not authorized to be played on this computer. I don't think she had a problem until the other ipod came on the scene about a month later.

I am not sure exactly when it happened but I know it was after the 2nd ipod came online. What I am not sure about is if it worked for a week after the 2nd or immediately after 1st use of the second. The first one can still upload from cd just not anything purchased online.

OTOH is there a setting in the software that I am missing. I have only used itunes when they need me to help them figure out a problem. I didn't find access to any settings that could be changed. It doesn't seem to be very robust.

iPods are only meant to be 1 per computer.

So what you are saying everything on the computer is now only good for the 2nd ipod. I guess the stuff downloaded before the new ipod will work on the the original.

Anyone know a way around this? I don't really want them to use my computer. I have seen threads talking about getting rid of the security stuff on songs purchased. If we used that I guess it would work. Any thoughts?

It seems everytime the kids use my computer it slows to a crawl. I hate to give them a reason to be on mine.

Unfortunatly it will only play on 1 ipod if you used the same computer. The only alternative that i know of is using a third party site to look for music, covert them and upload them to the ipods.

what i did with my daughter's nano is use the old $25 itunes gift card from BB, and downloaded the songs to her library or was it purchased songs, (not directly to the ipod)... now my son has a shuffle and somehow likes some of her songs, and i just told him to plug in the shuffle and pull it from or drag it from her library to the shuffle... go to edit, preferences, sharing tab and activate share entire library... hope this helps...
