Hey just thought i'd let you guys know that the 3rd gen ipods are on sale at my local bestbuy and probably at others.

15 gig $249
20 gig w/ dock and remote for $279! It was $399

I just exchanged my 15 gig i bought a week ago for 300 for the 20 gig and saved money

Warm at best. Picked up a 30GB refurb for $279 (dock and case) thru Apple. Didn't even look like a refurb. Came wrapped like new and no scratches either.

Good deal if you want the dock/remote, otherwise I would (and did) buy direct from Apple especially if you are a student.

The 4G of iPods are supposely out from what I read and they lowered the price by as much as $100 buxs on this generation. The 40G cost $399 and the 20G cost $299 according to Newsweek.

Battery life is extended from 8 to 12 hours and its more feature enriched.

even cheaper you can get a 10GB ipod from Apple for $169! Plus, download the ipod update and you have the new software too I have a 15GB ipod G3, and i have barely made it, to 7GB with the amount of songs i have

You get what comes to about a $30 price break on each Ipod. I think it's under student store or something like that on their site.

im not a student and I picked one up . I've bought from apple before and the refurbished items come with everything that the retail box as far as i know.

I had bought the 3G 20Gig a few weeks ago when it was still going for $399. I went back to Best Buy today and got a nice 110% Price match. Really great deal total out the door was $267.

The funny thing was I had just sold my old 2G 20 Gig on Ebay for $250. So for $10 more I was able to get a 3G brand new ipod!

Apples refurbs kick ass cuz they know how to treat theyre products. I got this creative Nomad NX (250 for 20 gig) a while ago cuz the ipod were so frickin expensive. Now I wish I would have waited a few months to get these cheaper ipods...good deals

If you are a student then the educational discount is about $30 off any ipod. The cool part is if you have access to an apple store, and they have them in stock (ya gotta ask at the counter) you can get the previous generation ipod for cheaper, and then the discount on top of that. the 15 gig lists for $229 educational.

the real deal is if you buy a powerbook now through Sept 25 you get $200 back if you buy an ipod with it. a friend of mine did this two days ago, after rebate the 15 gig ipod cost him $29.

I was wondering when do you guys actually use your iPods??? I think there really nice products and would like to have one for myself, but I was wondering about a few things first.... Can you in anyway plug this into your car so you will have access to your XGB of songs? Also, do you have to DL your songs from iTunes or can you get them Kazaa or Napster? Any help is appreciated!! Thanks!!

The iPod accepts any type of MP3 basically, so Kazaa and Napster is a go. A generic 15$ cassette adapter allows you to plug the iPod into your car.

you can also get fm modulators to be able to play your ipod in your car if you dont have a tape deck

you can get them as either wireless or wired through the antenna and they cost around 30 bucks
