iPods at Target $339.99

I'm not near a Target, but if someone could verify this that'd be great. I'm guessing they're the newer ones that go fo $399 at Apple's site.

Yep, the ipods are getting clearanced out at Target. My Target only had Mac versions left.

Even though its the mac version you can configure it to make it windows compatible with a simple download from apple.

On the Ipod subject itself there are some stores that are selling the 10Gig IPods for $279. Another Hot deals site said this was foung in Nebraska so good luck it may just be regional.

For apple products, yes. I don't know what it costs them to make the products, but they set the price for retailers and sell to them without much of a margin.

If 15% is below cost, then Dell has sold a whole bunch well below cost. With stackable coupons, I got mine for well over 20% off.

my friend works @ a mom and pop's Mac store here in NYC and he told me that his store is all out of Ipods; supposedly there's supposed to be a newer version coming out so they're waiting for those to come. can anyone verify if a new version is coming out?

btw...the same friend also tells me that the profit on ipods for resellers are not very good b/c Apple sets/regulates the prices so that they are very high

They are discounting the current models because apple is trying to pressure companies to sell their products with some unknown stipulation thats pissing off (at least) Dell and Target. Dell dropped the iPod rather quickly off their website, without warning. Sounds to me like Apple is getting a little cocky about the iPod, which will bite them in the arse.

Bump...$279 clearance 10GB (Windows version) iPod at the Target in Brooklyn Center, MN...still overpriced IMO.
