IQ Test Scores

I did a quick search but I didn't turn up anything.

I'm sure a lot of people are curious to see what their IQ is and have taken some form of the test before, so what is everyone's? This is all on the honor system of course, but I have scored 130-140 on different tests. I feel I'm fairly smart, and on the IQ point scale I fall in the region of gifted, but not genius.

What's everyone else got?

I took a few back in the day, I think I scored in the 130-145 range on average...not sure how much I buy into it.

Got these results on Wechsler test in 2004:

Reading: 135 (99% percentile)
Mathematics: Really low, rather not say haha
Written Language: 126 (96% percentile)
Oral Language: 154 (>99.9% percentile)
Total Composite: 124 (95% percentile)

Recently tried an online one that used very different methodology and got a 130.

I am confident if I took Wechsler again I would do significantly better in the math section, and do similarly well in the other sections.

Whatever the highest score possible is... add 1 and that is where mine tests at.

I haven't taken the Wechsler, but my scores would probably be 120-130 (I hope, I haven't done serious math in forever).

When I was in grade school I always tested 99%. The general rule is, 120 IQ you can solve any problem. The ones with 120+ just solve it faster. I don't put much stake in online IQ testing. The entire point of IQ testing is a comparison between peers while developing.

So 120 IQ just means you read at like an 8th grade level in 6th grade, etc. Which was true for me. I took algebra in middle school, read higher reading level books, yadda yadda. I'm lazy, I wasted most of it.

Last I took was emode's online test, got a 140 - which if IQ tests were accurate is conclusive proof that I really was a smart as I'd ever get in 8th grade since my composite then was 158.

EDIT: Granted that it's especially difficult to test children, but in 8th grade I was given a dozen or so and the results ranged from 120s to (I think) 240 - 250 - a range not even on most of the tests and an IQ that, if it exists at all, would be incredibly easy to determine as genius from casual acquaintance. As opposed to my case of "we think your child may be gifted, or possibly retarded."

Pretty clear that IQ tests are bullshit.

Probably due to the circles you travel in, the people you gravitate toward and associate with, the kind of people who are likely to disclose their test scores, and an element of people lying.

The statistics don't lie though, there are plenty of people clocking in at much, much lower scores.

Percentile rank is what matters since the raw numbers vary by test.

You should know by now that everyone in ATOT scores in the 99th percentile, has a six-figure income, supermodel girlfriends, and at least one exotic or luxury sports car.

I've since dropped to like 83%ile on stuff like the PCAT when I was thinking about pharmacy school. Like I said, I wasted it :awe:

I used to test terrible in english, I used to be an english tardsky. My typical scores go

30-40%ile english
70-80%ile math
99%ile science

took the test three times: once in middle school, once in college, and once post-graduate. the my lowest score was 138 and my highest score was 148.

I took an online test a couple years ago, but can't remember what I got. I really dislike tests, and pointless busy work, so I never bothered again. I suspect a lot of the online tests are rigged to make people think they''re smarter than they are. Nobody likes bad news, and a test that makes you look stupid doesn't generate hits.

Did Stanford test years ago before all my partying and drunken weekends while in the navy. It was a scale from idiot-150. 70-89 was your ex girlfriend, 90-100 was normal, 101-115 was normal beta student. 116-130 was exceptional and 131 to 139 was very exceptional. 140-150 was rocket scientist. They warned that closer to 150 you got there was possibility of going crazy/mad. I got 138 at the time and best friend got 139. We felt it was accurate cuz we looked at everyone else all the time as if they were stupid. Which makes sense because I look to Nickola Tesla as a intellectual icon. I also set in college with a 4.0 GPA and often asked questions the professors couldn't answer. Sadly they often asked questions to me that I could and often in elaborate detail to the point I had to stop and make sure I wasnt teaching the classes.

Then I got the results and it feed my ego..

Seriously though, I dont feel an IQ test is a real measurement of ones ability. Its more of a small part of a much bigger picture. One can have a high IQ and not have the common sense to make salt water.

I wholly agree, I don't weight everyone only based on an test scale. I know for certain that most of my ability to solve problems comes from my memory, which I would say is very exceptional, but I'm also very good at reading people and writing in general. On various tests throughout my life I've always been a top scorer in writing. Problem solving alone doesn't make a person well rounded.

Common sense has always been relative to the person talking about it. It's basically whatever they think other people should know regardless of how common it is as you so aptly proved.

No, I won't say the score.

The online tests (and all the self-administered ones in general) are rubbish.
