Building our our family room and will have the Media Cabinet not in a location that you can shoot a remote at it. So I need something to take the IR signal and get it to where it needs to be.
I came across these over at Monoprice and they look like they'd work but just want to see if anyone else uses these (or if you'd recommend anything else)

I can put the receiving "eye" by the TV or speakers and the media cabinet is only about 3 feet away but it faces a different direction. With the Monoprice item it looks like I can then have the beam pieces go to 4 items. For me that'd be HTPC, BluRay, and Tuner/receiver (only need 3)
Is there any reason this item wouldn't work? Is this item exactly what I'm looking for? I've never used something like this before so just want to make sure before I order it.
Thanks!
