Looks like Yemen wants a war. Iran has armed them with missiles and those missiles are now striking international trade. A vital sea route is closing to commercial traffic, and the alternative is to sail around Africa. This is the Suez canal route. Same as closing the Suez canal.Personally, I would raise Yemen to the ground in response to these acts of war. Alternatively, we could leave Yemen alone and focus our military response on their supplier, Iran.
Unless you would like to yield the oceans and lose international shipping, a harsh example needs to be made here and now. Before other terrorists decide it would be fun to sink merchant ships elsewhere. These ships must be protected by force, do they not?
