I like how every time I see this thread the score goes down more and more lol.

See my last post.

Sitting at 79% on rotten tomatoes atm. I find it intriguing that it started out at 95% and sat there for a while before gradually tumbling down as the weeks passed. I guess it's true what they say about Hollywood. They look at what critics raved enthusiastically at similar films (iron man 2 for example) and go out of their way to roll out the red carpet and extend invitations to them for private screenings well in advance of release, with the hope that they rate it similarly well. That temporarily inflates the general score on meta critic sites like rotten tomatoes that helps to generate the pre-release buzz for the all important opening weekend, where a films ultimate final gross is largely based off of.

Saw it yesterday, it was ok for a summer action flick. Nothing much different from the previous IM movies. IM 1 is still the best of the three.

So is this the last Iron Man movie? And if there's another Avengers movie, will there be no Iron Man in it? Kind of a depressing ending if you ask me, all his suits self destructing and his house gone, etc., etc. If you ask me, it leaves it open for another movie because if they leave it as is, it's the end of Iron Man...right?

After the credits and the after-credits scene, it said "Tony Stark will return."

Damnit, I knew I should have stayed till after the credits!

Robert Downey Jr, has like 5 or 6 movies left on his Disney Marvel contract. He originally signed for a 10 picture deal. He is currently trying to renegotiate his contract. I am not sure what 10 movies hes to be in, but Avengers 2 and 3 are atleast two of the remaining ones hes to be in. My bet is Iron Man 4 comes out after the next Hulk reboot, so sometime around 2016.

Down to 78%, lol

All I need to know if it was roughly as good as Iron Man 2, in which case I'll debate whether or not to waste money again renting thru redbox. It would need to be twice as good as IM2 to value it enough to see at the $2 theater.

I thought it was better than IM2. Loved the humor in IM3 - especially Ben Kingsley's character...and the dude who didn't like his job cause all his coworkers were weird.

Just saw it. It is ATOT worthy. No need to wait for it to come out on Netflix.

2016? I don't want to wait that long! Any idea on the Avengers 2? Curious to see how they bring Iron Man back.

IMO it was pretty good. Better than the 2nd one, as it had more humor like the 1st one had which I liked. Seems like a lot of the Marvel movies lately have had pretty lame villains overall, or at least to me that has been the weakest part and this is no exception.

We took the family to see it yesterday, IMAX 3D. I thought it was great. The whole Mandarin thing is awesome. Stay through the credits. Definitely takes the effects up a notch. Ties in to the sequels and Avengers. Never drags.

saw it in 3d last night and enjoyed it. i agree with the people who say it's better than 2 but not as good as 1. that is definitely the order i would put it in as well. definitely liked the humor in this one a lot.

i was REALLY REALLY shocked how empty the theater was where i saw it. literally about 15 people in the theater for a 10:10pm showing.

but i'm sure most people on atot will not like it or want to see it since it is popular and everyone likes it.

1 > 3 > 2.

this, but more like 1 >>> 3 > 2

1. the villains weren't that great (ie we didn't have much reason to fear or dislike them)

2. the villains were way overpowered
laying waste to Tony's arc-reactor powered suits by just simply having their genes tweaked to become fire-breathing Wolverines that could disable and melt the suits with molten fists

3. they sold out too much trying to make it kid-friendly.
Instead of a scene like in the beginning of Iron Man 1 where an entire caravan of US soldiers gets taken out just to get at Tony, we have Tony miraculously saving EVERYONE who fell out of a plane even though Jarvis told us he could only save 4 of them, because it would be completely unfathomable and unacceptable if Iron Man wasn't able to save everyone. And of course there was Iron Man 3's take on "short round", although even this terrible child actor wasn't able to stop Robert Downey Jr. from delivering amazing scenes with him

Maybe I'm becoming more cynical or jaded over time, but while I liked the movie, I hate going to the theaters. Last night cost my wife and I $30 to watch it in 3D while the Blu-Ray release will probably be less for the 4-5 disk set.

Really? I was actually surprised at how much more violence they were able to put in at PG-13.
They executed the dude Al-Qaeda style..

I would hate going though life being so picky and frugal.
