What? They're complaining about a GAME stealing the MOVIES thunder? IMO that's not a comparison that can be made and I hope that's just a poor rumor and the execs aren't really that whiny.

I am. The theatre is almost empty, I opted for the 8:45 P.M. show instead of the first three, in hopes of avoiding the crowds. Just waiting for the trailers to start.

Of all the movies I'd expect to be good, the last one would be one with Robert Downey Jr. as a superhero. A great actor, but a superhero??...give me an fvcking break, lol!

I'll definitely redbox this one tho when it comes out, since it sounds like they actually made it work.

if he's a great actor, why would him as a superhero be any different? I'd liken it to Christian Bale and Batman Begins. Bale is an amazing actor, and was able to get into the Batman character, a notably darker and gloomier movie too, no less. I actually didn't have too many doubts with Iron Man, even from the beginning, just because Downey is a damn fine actor, and I have yet to question his ability to play the character. Now, what I'm most interested in seeing is what the character is like at the end of the movie...

Great movie. Just got back from the first showing, which I think broke the release date as it was a 9pm showing.

I was a big IM fan as a kid. I believe my lowest issue is Invincible IM #4, but it's in lousy condition. Being somebody who knew the history/story line of the IM cannon, I thought they melded it well going from origins to Stane in a 2hr time frame that basically covered IM #1 to IM #200, which is right about where I stopped reading (during the Armor Wars).

Of course, IM was my favorite hero when I was a kid...back then, he got no props (it was all X-Men/Spidermen....I was(am) a nerd and liked all the unpopular comics, IM, West Coast Avengers, Avengers, New Mutants.....you get the drift). Nice to see he's so big (and popular) in the Marvel Universe now. From what I gather from my bro-in-law, who's still big in to comics, IM is one of the main forces in the Marvel Universe (Civil War).
