Shooting ranges near freeways usually have a bunch of trees right by the free way. And the place where the shooter stands is usually at least 1000 yards from the freeway and shooting your firearm at a 45 degree angle is against the rules.

Wheres the irony?

It's not "near" the freeway at all, that's simply the exit you take to get to it.

.223 is a very common bullet caliber.

For assault rifles.

Assault rifles? WTF is an assault rifle? Oh, you mean the scare tactic term coined by those who are anti-gun. So you mean a rifle with a different stock or look then? Thanks for the clarification.

Let's see. The military coined the phrase back in the late 50's early 60's due to the weapons size. An M16 and L8 5 are a couple of examples of an assault rifle. They were named long before the anti-gun people got nasty. An M16 has about the same kick an a .22 long rifle has (previous experiance with both.)

Acctually assault rifles are smaller than what used to be the main rifles that soldiers used, think M14 or M1 Garrand. They were longer and heavier with a larger caliber.

sooo true, a Ruger mini-14 isn't considered an "assault rifle" whereas a colt AR-15 is and they both shoot the same ammo weigh approx. the same, look "similar" (if you get the synthetic stock) AND function the same
