It's hard to believe this nonsense exists and people fall for it. Then again, today my wife's grandmother (88 years old) gets a call that someone was trying to use her credit card and they just need her to verify the card number, expiration, her billing address, etc. - all of which she gladly gave.
Unfortunately that's why these scumbags exist. People are gullible enough to give the info.
With these calls as common as it seems, you'd think they would start coming down with a hammer on these people. Instead, they largely ignore the problem. If potential scammers see other scammers getting thousands of dollars, with zero repercussions - heck, that's less risky than selling drugs, and all profit.
