Is 1.95 volts with 566@850 celly too high??

i have a celeron 566@850 1.95volts on a be6. it crashes at 1.9 so i bumped the voltage on my abit slocket to 1.9 and set the bios to 1.95. i ran the cpu warming test on the CPU Stability Test, and temperatures maxed at 35celcius. I have a golden orb running with thermal paste (not arctic silver), and two case fans. One blowing air out from the cpu, the other blowing air out of the side (near ram). I ran 3dMark2000 and passed (although with my voodoo3 2000pci got bad scores).
any comments? is 1.95 too high? im hoping to burn it in and bring it down to perhaps 1.85 or 1.9. thanx!

i forgot to mention that its the cc0 version so default was 1.7v

have you tested it with prime95 or seti@home 3dmark is more towards grapics stabilty (imo)and 1.95 is sorta high for a celeron,but if your sure the temps are at 35c maxed out then that dont sound to bad i use to run a p3 700@1ghz with 1.9 but my temps were relativly high around 48c full load so i bumped it down to 1.85 and ran it 980 instead.,but what it all boils down too is if it stable and are you comfortable at that level.

stable @ under ~40c full load and your good to go, but if the temp starts spiking or you start getting weird instabilities, then back it down a little...

yea i had it at 83fsb for a few months, but lately the comp has been acting weird, i guess my hd is finally reacting to the oc in pci bus. i had random shutdowns more frequently. ok thanx, ill try to burn it down to 1.9 or 1.85

It should be able to handle the voltage as long as you keep the air blowing. Maybe try to bring it down later. Be sure you have a good mount with the gorb.

Remember, too, that it is February. Unless you're in the southern hemisphere, that means winter. A Cel2 at 1.95v is one thing in February, and something entirely different in July or August. ...at least where I am from.

Damn, 1.95V for 850MHz?...I have 977MHz with 1.70V stable. It's an older cBo stepping too.

ok i brought the voltage back to 1.85..becasue it still crashed at 1.95~! but guess wat. i realized it only crashes wen i play counterstrike. hrs of stab test and quake BOTH do not yield any errors/lockups/reboots. the system is fine. it tops at 35degrees celcius. wat could be wrong? i reinstalled cs and halflife and the same thing. im running wickedgl on voodoo3 2000 pci (not oced)
help guys.
how do i set my ram to 3-3-3..or is 2-2-2 more stable.
i heard some ppl lower their voltage .05 DOWN from default. wats this do?

My celly seemed very stable at 933 mhz, CPU stablility test, RC5, Quake3 did not bring it down. But after 10 minutes of Counter-Strike it crashed. Guess CS is a great stability checker

If you have a noname slocket, I would suggest buying a new one. Cheap slockets are well known to cause instability at high speeds.

I would recommend the MSI MS-6905 Master. Not sure if that's the current model tho.
