Is 30$ for all you can drink beer worth it?

So I saw an ad at an All you can Eat place and on the side they had an unlimited beer on tap special (Sapporo, Kirin, etc) for 30$.

Now would you have to drink yourself comatose in order to make the deal worth it or is it physically possible to drink $30 worth of beer in one sitting?

(I remember Manswers had the limit around 16 or so beers before you died for a 160lb man)

Depends on how much the place charge per beer, I've been to places that charge as much as $50, but then again those drinks did come with a sweet Filipina that can sing really well.

$4/beer, 7.5 beers is very doable. I don't know how many people would drink 8 beers with dinner though.

I would say no. Even if I drink a good beer, its like $4 or $5 a glass. I'm not gonna have enough to make it to $30.

Good point, beer does contain some carbonation and since its an AYCE shabu shabu place I would focus on the food.

For some people (seasoned drinkers) that much beer would barely make them feel intoxicated, but if you have to ask then probably not worth it.

I'd say it depends on the time frame and the glass size, if it's 2 - 4 or more hrs, then ya, I could drink that much in the allotted time, <2, no, It ain't worth it.

ahhhh nomihoudai (all you can drink). i fucking LOVE it. great way to get plastered for cheap dunno how they do it where you are. but when i was in japan i could get a 2.5hr all you can drink for about 15 bucks. ahhh... the good ole days

$20 maybe. $30 is a lot of Beer at most places, just the Volume alone makes it difficult to get your money's worth. Unless you can hang out for as long as you want and it's a Sports or Titty Bar. Then you could get a good deal.

It depends on where it's located; I can get 4 times as much beer at my local dive bar as I can on the Vegas strip for the same price. However, any place that offers "all you can drink beer" pretty much loses all credibility as a "classy" establishment. I certainly would never eat at a place that advertised all you can drink beer, especially not for such a high amount.

$30? That's way too much. A pint of beer plus tip is about $6 around here. Keep in mind that a pint of beer is 473mL while a can of beer is 355mL.

How much is $30 worth:
($30) / ($6 per beer) * (473mL) = 2.365L of beer

I can't even drink a 2L of coca cola. Beer? No freakin way.

Now that you mention "classy", if this is one of those Bars that has an exceptionally large variety(>20, for eg) of Beers, then such a deal could be worth it. Gives you the opportunity to try Beers you've never had or possibly couldn't even find in a store. If it's a 5-6 different Brands/kinds, definitely not worth it.

At my neighbor dive, a pint of the happy hour beer I drink costs $2.00. I do not think I would drink 10 to 15 beers during a reasonable bar visit.
