Is 5.23v idle and 5.10v load on a 5v rail too high??

I bought an Antec 400w and did the pot mod to get my 5v Rail numbers up -- but now I fear it may be too high.

What do you think? Any downside to leaving it?

It still seems to run cool -- and I really don't want to mess with cracking the PSU case again if I don't need to.

+/- 5% is the rated spec usually so you're probably okay. I recently switched from an Enermax 350W PS since the +5v value would dip as low as 4.70v. I'm on a Sparkle 300W now and stock, the lowest the +5v line would read was 4.89v. Since it had some adjustable pots inside (unlike the Enermax) I went ahead and tweaked it a bit and now it's running great at 5.08-5.11v. My +12v also increased from 11.97v to 12.45v and I could hear the case fans spinning just a bit faster too

Thats weird, I have an Enermax 350w on my second PC and and a Powerman (Sparkle) 300w PSU on a third. The Enermax can run an Abit KG7 and KT7A-RAID w/ 1.2 ghz T-bird at 12.43v at the 12v line and 5.10v at the 5v line. Shifting to an Enermax 431watter (on my main), doesn't produce any difference unless I OC (but then the difference is small). With the 300w Sparkle, 5v is at 5.03 but the 12v line is at 11.89v. With an MSI K7T-pro2 mobo, the Sparkle is just fine at 5.01v and 12.01v. It really depends on the mobo, different brand mobo's react differently to different brand PSU. Abit boards seem to like Enermax PSU a lot. I can OC my T-bird 1.2 to 1.4ghz at 1.69v core voltage and still run stable with both Abit boards.

My Enermax 350W was reporting low (4.70v) +5v readings on an Abit BP6 mb. However, a couple other power supplies I've tried on this board, a Seasonic 200W and a Sparkle 300W that I'm now using, reports +5v readings that are much closer to spec, ie. 4.89-4.95v, and the Sparkle after a few adjustments, now does 5.08v. There doesn't appear an easy way to make any adjustments to the Enermax and so far I haven't heard back from them concerning my inquiry to RMA this apparently defective unit
