I get around ~4800 for a similar rig, but with a 2.6ghz P4, so I would say No that is not low.

I get about high 59XX to low 60XX in 3dMark03 and I have a Athlon64 3000+, Radeon 9800(405 core and 325 memory), 1 gig of pc3200 memory.

Ati 9100 w/128MB

And to top it all off, I can't play DirectX games.

3DMark 03 is more independent on CPU + Memory, so go add some flashing lights to it!

They have this cool thing called ORB where you can compare your score to others with similar rigs. Your score is in line with other systems of that caliber.

Edit: I scored 6497 with the same setup.

Your score is a little bit low. I've been getting ~6,100 with a 9800XT on a 2.6A GHz, 400FSB chipset. Yours should be higher that that.

Ok 3dmark03 experts, I just installed my new AIW 9600xt and my score was only about 3800. Is that par for the course or should I do a little tweaking?

That's about the same as my system which is a P4 2.8, Radeon 9800 Pro, 1GB Crucial. Overclocking and tweaking has turning into the techy equivalent of ricing.

LuckyStrike1, 3,800 for a 9600XT is actually pretty good. I was using a BBA 9600 pro a little while ago and scored around that range.
