Is 6800 vapourware?

My brother has been trying to get a 6800 Ultra, but has been struggling.

Anyway, via a series of connections he's heard that there are about "5 or 6" 6800 Ultra cards in the UK (only available from a single OEM), and that no more are expected soon. The information apparently came from a marketing director for a 2nd major OEM, so is supposed to be reliable.

Looks like the Gainward and Leadtek "Ultra" cards are currently in stock.
