is 80c on i5 760 safe?

i5 760 2.8ghz 3years old (not overclock)
4gb ram
hd 7870

my friend just game me this i5 so my stock fan is for my original i3. i replace the fan with

playing games gives 50-701c but playing BF4 gives me 74-80c
80c seems to be hot given that its not being overclock.

will it be safe to keep on playing on this temperature?

Sure.. It's within Intel specs.

However that cooler's for a 65 watt CPU. Yours is 95 watt..

Yes, I ran my i5-750 @ 3.8ghz with temperatures around 82C for years, and it is still running.

Tjmax is 100C for the chip. Perfectly fine.

But you should use a 95W cooler and not a 65W one.

how will i know if its 65w or 95w? i read spec and still cant see it.
any recomendation for a cpu cooler for my rig i prefer cheap but quality

The 95W cooler got a copper base.

But if 80C is all you reach on the 65W cooler, then I wouldnt worry.

i slightly open my sidepannel and the max temp is 72c i dont know its because of that or its because i last tried it in the afternoon and its room temp is quite hot.

Mine used to hit 80c for years but only under prime64, it was cooler when gaming. Personally I'm much happier now that it never goes above 60c. The chip will last longer at lower temperatures.
