Over the year they implied Kaveri is coming in mid 2013
I dont remember anyone in AMD saying mid 2013 for Kaveri, it was always H2 2013 and in June they cleared that by saying shipping in late Q4.

Guys, you are both drifting dangerously towards the very kind of meta-commentary regarding another member that you've already been made aware the moderators in this forum disapprove of...
EDIT: Just because you disagree with someone, does not mean he is trolling.
That's expected from ShinteiDK. Now post something Intel related and you'll see the tone changing right away.

Maybe they thought launching 1.0 was pointless.Yes Kaveri1.0 was either delayed or cancelled altogether. We know this since the end of 2011. If you take a look at that roadmap it's dated July 2011...
What we now have is Kaveri2.0 with Hawaii derived GPU (as per Charlie D. and his latest article on Hawaii) and this Kaveri2.0 comes roughly 9mo-1 year after Kaveri1.0 was scheduled to launch.
My point is that the roadmap he posted is old news.
I believe you should recheck that roadmap
It is a rather unusual availability timing though. Q1 isn't usually regarded as a high-demand timeframe for corporate or consumer buyers.
If I had to guess I bet AMD was intending to target a late Q3 or early Q4 (2013) release to hit the streets before xmas and thanksgiving buying. (no business would intentionally set about to create a 4yr development roadmap whereby they miss the peak buying season by a few months)
Check the Roadmap again. Kaveri begins in the middle.
It is KABINI that begins in the middle, but perhaps you misread it because of the small size.
August belongs to middle of the year, not for you? To be exact the Kaveri graph starts end of July. Or in percent: 65%.
Seven months are 65% of a year.?.
If 6 months are 50% then i can conclude that the month
of july is 15% of a year.
heh, you dont expect me to even respond to that 2011 slide.

I'd imagine a hypothetical FM2+ with DDR4 support would be their easiest and smartest route to continued desktop availability.

So you basically dont expect us to remind you of something said <2 years ago. Right. You said AMD never mentioned an earlier than H2/2013 launch for Kaveri, and you were wrong.
