Trying to read the XBox article is like wading chest deep through molasses! Many of the images never do download, and the pages stall. The forums, at least this one, don't seem quite as slow as that (the fourth page of the article has stalled without downloading even one of the several images on that page). It's 9:20 AM CDST here, so the west coast is just waking up. It can't be internet load (if it was that, Annoyances Org would also be dragging, and it's not).

Dunno what's going on but it just took 85 seconds for the reply box to load for me and an avarage of 35 seconds for each of the last three forum pages.

It appears to me that there's been some change to the pages.
IIRC, a week or two ago, pages never seemed to be done loading; something related to looking at something new for advertising.

It appears right now that none of the pages I have opened have finished opening... it's still "transferring data from forums.anandtech.com..."

Is it possible that this is doing something similar that has the effect of multiplying the traffic by a lot? (I'm not even at novice level for understanding what goes on between servers and computers)
Everything seems to be loaded on each page, yet the pages are still waiting for something. What?

Within the article at the bottom, click on "Print This Page". That'll take every page in the article and make it as one. Pics will still take some time to load but the text went quickly for me.

I think it's hanging up on the Zip Zoom Fly add on the left sidebar as it will not load the add all the way.

Don't these things get checked. This has not been the first time that Anandtech takes 15 minuets to just log on and another 5 just to get to a forum. Sheesh!!

I think that is just a good case of Slashdotting!! I saw a link for the XBOX article over there on the main page. That alone can bring a site to it's knees.

Seems faster now... pages are loading all the way, and I don't see an ad on the side. Was that it?

OK, been to that option, and it got as far as the eighth page, then it stalled, and there were very few pictures that ever downloaded. Shortly after that stall, the entire site stopped responding for the next 3-4 hours!

I still haven't seen the last 2-3 pages at this point. .

Knowing the way AT goes up and down lately, the best way to be sure your Heat isn't affected due to a forum outage, is to exchange e-mail addys once the deal is set IMO Zebo
