I used it earlier today, was the slowest I'd ever seen it, but, it connected fine. Once it had the update list it downloaded and installed rather quickly.
Same here; was wondering if the new Windows installs I did were faulty, then I did remember that the fix for this damn worm is available at Windowsupdate. I wonder if they are doing anything to allocate more bandwidth/servers to the update servers.
it is just slow (has been for the past 2 days) as all of the people that haven't run it (ever or in a long time) are trying to get all the patches they have ignored

My version of XP Home says that it is 128-bit Cipher Strength. The security updates on http://www.microsoft.com/security/incident/blast.asp listed are for 32 and 64 bit... do I use
one of those or ... ?
no dude, it is referring to which version of XP you are running, 32 bit is the "normal" version that x86 platform uses, the 64-bit version is for the new 64 bit CPU architecture, it isn't referring to your "Cipher Strength" level
use the 32-bit version, there isn't even a 64 bit version of XP Home (AFAIK)
