is anything being done about the timewarp issue?

this has been going on for a while now and we've been told that the issue isnt being worked on because this forum is moving to vb. but the date for the vb switch came and went without so much a word on what's going on. Now it seems the timewarp is issue is only getting worse. Look at this thread. There are four posts that went up above the OP (citrix).

Is anything being done about it? Or are we just expected to live with this?

Nothing is being done aside from the vB switch.

I am basing this statement solely on (lack of) news from admin, not any concrete info.

Haha, I haven't been on here in forever and was gonna make a thread here until I saw this.

Went into that thread and was wondering what the hell was going on. Even took a capture thinking something was off on my end.

The current theory: servers are not in sync, causing post times and order to switch. The warps, when they do happen, happen when posts are made within a few minutes (usually less than a minute) of each other.

i know nothing of network tech, but can it be really that hard to sync up the servers?

It can be almost impossible if you don't have a DB Admin, which at this point, i'm assuming either Anandtech doesn't have... or fired and didn't replace.

Even if they actually do upgrade to vB, if the servers are out of sync then there will likely still be problems.

It is solely a software issue and there has been no support from FuseTalk on the issue.

It usually seems to happen when one posts within a couple of minutes of a previous poster

It also seems to happen frequently for a user for a period of time. I liken this to a game of tag, where you are "it" for a certain amount of time. Do the servers shift user load from time to time?
