I wanna buy some stuff from this place because stuff is so cheap, but how safe are they? Any bad or good experiences?
Do the people at customer service speak English?

I've had a friend order from them before...no problems...

...I think I ordered a power supply from them...I remember it was from a place in Texas...I think it was Axiontech...but my friend didn't have any troubles...

besides, if anything goes wrong, just charge it back...

...btw, I'll also mention that this isn't the right place to post this question...unless you wanna tell us about their "hot deals."

I live in Houston, TX and buy all my stuff from there, you might want to try Directron.com before you order from there...alittle cheaper most of the times. Take care

Axion customer support uses a close approximation to English. I've bought from them twice. The first order went fine, but the second (a motherboard) had problems. Tracking information showed that Axion had received the packaged, but it took them almost 3 weeks to actually find it in their possession.

Axiontech is a horrible place to buy anything from.

I ordered a video card from them 3 months ago. It was supposed to be a Geforce2 MX 32mb PCI card but they shipped an AGP card instead. After 3 weeks of trying to get a hold of their RMA department I finally got them to replace it. When I got my replacement it was Geforce2 MX 32mb PCI card but it arrived broken. As in they did a horrible job packing it. 2 more weeks of going through their BS and finally got what I ordered 5 weeks ago. By then the price has dropped $20.00 and they didn't care to adjust the price even though it was their fault. :|

Another note, their Sales department is mainly staffed by Cuaccasian males who speak perfect english. However, their RMA and Tech department is staffed by Asians with broken or barely understandable English. (Not meant to be a racial thing against anyone since I myself am Asian.)

Good luck with any of your purchases from them. You'll need it.

I've bought from them before and have no real problems with them or with recommending them. My only complaint is that, despite their "no profit on shipping claims," they do charge a pretty hefty handling fee, making shipping a little expensive. I second the suggestion to check Directron first.

junthin>> wow...sorry to here they gave you such a bad time.
I ordered from them about 3 hours ago and then I check their rating. That's when I started to worry :frown:

I'm a little worried about Directron.com now to. I just checked out the Toshiba dvd-rom drive that I bought at Axiontech. AT directron it says oem "No manual, no drive."
Check it out, here's the direct link

I ordered some things from them a while ago (AS2, a couple Asus CD-Roms, and a GlobalWin fop32-1). The prices were great, but it took them forever to ship it out (my delivery address didn't match my CC billing address -- my fault) I e-mailed them and told them to change the billing address. They ended up changing both the shipping and billing address, and I ended up getting my stuff after another week (I live in an apartment and they can't just leave stuff at the door) The package was all beat up, as well as all the boxes inside, but everything works fine..

Needless to say I will never order anything again from them..

I've never had any problems with axiontech, and I frequently walk in to buy stuff. It's not as cheap as some places though, so if I didnt live in houston, I wouldn't buy from em.

I've had good experiences with newegg

I ordered an Asus motherboard from AxionTech a couple months ago. It arrived on time, however it was defective. I spoke with a Tech support guy with a Texas accent who tried to help me find the problem. Since the problem couldn't be found, they gave me an RMA number and I shipped it back. Since I needed a new motherboard quickly, I ordered a new one at the same time, and they charged it to my card. They even said they would test the new one before shipping it out. I got my new motherboard after a couple days and it worked fine. A few days after that my credit card had been credited for the defective one.

Even though I had a problem with the first motherboard they sent, they tried to help me over the phone and then very smoothly and quickly replaced the motherboard with a good one. I received both MBs on time and the charge for the defective one was refunded in a timely manner.

So my point is I was very satisfied with AxionTech.com and would recommend buying from them.

I had a totally gawd awful experience with Axion, my worst on the net by far. Frustrating, especially as I decided to order from them based on resellerratings and anandtech.

Ordered complete system for them to assemble as per my specifications. They take the order, bill my card and claim to have shipped it. Weeks pass and no system. Calls to 800 # (which is usually busy) reassure but they are never able to give me a tracking number. Finally THREE weeks after my card was charged, they acknowledged my order was never processed, much less sent. They promise it will be in my hands 2 days later.

It arrives 5 days later without any documentation. It is misconfigured, a cheap power supply substituted for the one I had paid extra for, and the motherboard is damaged. How? They put a chrome orb on an abit K7 Raid, despite warnings from places like anandtech, and despite my specific instruction not to use the orb. They scratched the capacitors.

I returned the whole thing. Never even plugged it in. Took another 2 months to get the purchase price back from them. They had my money for 3 months and I had squat.

Courtious, but incompetent. NEVER have them do any work for you. (If I had not known what to look for I would be struggling with this system today.) Perhaps they are ok if you want a boxed part (I'd never trust them though). Don't count on any prompt problem resolution, and you cannot believe anything they tell you.

Go elsewhere. You can't be saving enough to make the risk worthwhile.

That's cool. I just hate places that test or open anything. I just like to get my stuff with out anyone handling it, other than packing it to ship it to me. I stopped buying from a local place here because they drag their products back and forth to trade shows and at the shows they take out motherboards and expose them for customers to touch and give them a static bath. I hope this place isn't like that. Newegg seems to be the best place so far for me. I really hope this stuff comes ok. If it comes messed up, I'll never leave newegg again.

I live in Houston and buy from them all the time. Kind of has a sweat-shop ambience that Kathie Lee would find alluring... but they have good deals, and I have never had a problem with their English-challenged employees.

Another note, if you are a local in Houston, I'd recommend you getting your stuff from Directron since they offer a more professional business. Axiontech is more of a shady operation.

However, Newegg owns all.

ROTFLMAO!

That's the funniest thing I've heard all day. Directron shouldn't even be used in the same sentence with the word "professional." I have been in their "store" several times and it's the most disorganized and unprofessional operation you could imagine.

I have dealt with them for several years and always got a good support and responsiveness, especially from Andrews. Ya, it is some time hard to get them on the phone, as sometimes entrepreneurs are. The best is to send them an email and they are quick to respond.
