Chrome on iOS is Safari, except without the fancy bits that make it go faster. (It's using Safari to display web pages, just like every other app has to.)
I use, Mercury, which is based on Chrome. It'll run slow sometimes. Don't know why. Always throws up memory warnings too. Atomic has always been one of the best iOS browsers but it hasn't been updated since iOS6.
