after working with my rescomp - who seems fairly competent in computer science - we have concluded that coretemp contains a virus - I am now wiping my drive and reinstalling the OS; he observed some behavior that is indicative of a virus.
Edit: On reflection, I asked the rescomp 'exactly what caused you to believe there is a virus' and he described the Mozilla Master password dialog box - so he is an idiot and I am too for listening to him without further questions. And, now back to why my wireless stopped working.
Does anyone know a link to the standalone version, I ran the installer and have adware galore now .
Kaspersky 2015 doesn't find anything wrong with the standalone 1.0 RC6, but Win 10 does NOT like it. After opening and closing it a few times, my CPU usage will max out and the Win 10 GUI starts flaking out and then stops responding.
Good by, Coretemp. We were good friends.
You need to create your own thread for your wireless problems in the network forum instead of trying to hijack this one. Your system clearly has issues uninstalling a piece of software should not be disconnecting your wifi.

I like the idea of Realtemp, but to my knowledge it doesn't have two things I liked about Coretemp. First, Coretemp showed data on my G13/G15 screens. Second, Coretemp had a desktop gadget that I loved.
I can see my CPU socket temp through the window on the case (readout from Mobo's digital LCD), so it's hard to justify bothering anymore.
CoreTemp 1.0rc6 isn't compatible with Win8.1 either. It hangs the OS GUI as well.
whats the use of having it if it doesn't give good info, even if it is on your keyboard?
Same here. I see no difference in the data from CoreTemp and that from HWInfo64 for the same info. What do you mean? It always gave me good info. RAM usage as well as by core utilization and temp.
