I have an athlon xp 1700+ which I o/c to 2000+ on my old KT133A board...
I was reading about the L3 bridges which I can CUT and get above 13X to o/c higher...

I finally decide to cut them with xacto knife, so I take out my chip and notice the markings:
AXDA1700DLT3C
AIUGA
what is this? does it mean it's a tbred B and I should be able to reach 2.2ghz + ?
should I not cut these bridges and wait for when I get my nforce2 board??

I'm going to wait for a response before doing anything, I'm on my laptop right now

thats a tbred a

you are not going to get much higher than 1900ish mhz at max on that board probably....MAYBE 2000mhz, but i doubt it

probaby around 1800-1900mhz you will hit a wall, as that was the prime reason for AMD refining the core and introducing tbred b's

cool, thanks guys... I thought those markings meant it was a B...
my friend got a AXDA2100DUT3C, that's a B right?

anyway, I will cut the bridges now because then I will be able to get at least 1.8 I hope...
1.66 isn't too good

the main thing to look for is the letter B at the end of the 5 letter string on the 2nd line:

eg:

AIUGA = Tbred A
AIUHB = Tbred B

DLT3C is either Tbred A or Tbred B
DUT3C is Tbred B (i believe)

but all of this information has been posted repeatedly in multiple threads

yup, 13X multiplier
the system never posts, UNLESS I hold down the insert key which defaults the cpu to normal, and then it displays athlon 1300... which indicates 13X 100..

but then I can go in bios and change it to 12X and above (there's nothing past that), X 100fsb and set the voltage to be sure, and then it doesn't post again!!

seems like there's nothing I can do!!
if I set the multiplier to 5x hoping that it will put 13X, it doesn't post either...

basically, whatever I do, it doesn't post!!
unless I hold the insert key in which case I get 13 x 100
what do I do?

if im not mistaken, by cutting the last bridge, you've enabled the HI bit meaning you have access to mults 13x and HIGHER, not lower

try changing it to 13.5 if you can on the mobo (probably not...but maybe its there) and it should work with 100 mhz freq

at least you konw the cutting part worked

when u cut the last bridge, as i said abovve, you enalbed HI bit so u can go 13x and higher
i did almost the exact same cut on my 1700+ (but i cut the last 3, so mult of 17x, so i cold use it on my old board which didnt support higher mults, but did support remapped mults (also it didnt go much higher than 100mhz freq so that ditnt help either)..

my guess is when you key it for a lower mul in the bios, it iether gets confused and doesnt konw wtf to do, or the mults are also remapped for your board try a mult of 7x and see waht happens, or just go through all of them

good idea!! I didn't think of trying all the multipliers, all I tried was 5x and 12x above (the highest one, there is not 13x option)
both of those weren't working, and I got fed up of my system not posting

so I re connected the 2 bridges!! hehehe

oh well, at least it works now... @ 1.66ghz

I'm selling soon anyway, so I guess I'll tuff this one out.
