<< Yes, they would do. But for some reason large corporations have this fascination with China. >>

Actually quite a few Nike shoes are made in Indonesia but I don't know what other companies produce in those countries. The wages around the same in the sweatshops, ranging from 15 cents an hour to around 30 cents an hour.

want to boycott China? How about renouncing capitalism in the mean time? Why don't you guys just stick your heads in the ground while others rob you blind with high prices. I, for one, don't give a rat's arse what's happening over there, as long as I get things at a great price. The market and the people of China will eventually settle the 'abuses' going on over there.

I don't know if the taxing of imports versus exports to china was accurate, but I'm sure it is in their favor. We need to start taxing imports from all these countries what they tax our exports to them. It's only fair. I have no problem with them making stuff over there, but atleast put it on a level playing field. As far as that web site for the tibetan freedom movement or what ever the hell that was, more than likely it slanted in their favor, i don't give that any more creditability than PETA or Jesse 'The Publicity Whore" Jackson. To anyone sympathasizing about these sweat shops. Tell me this, do you think they would be any better off if their factories were shut down. you would have millions of people out of work, you'd have people starving and dying, then the dead bodies would cause diseases. Black Plague would set in and kill them all. Well it may not get that bad, but you'd have alot of poorer people.

Captains of American Industry made that decision for you...so they can bill out cheap labor, at American labor rates , and pocket the difference and not pass any savings on to the consumer. Think about that the next time you line up to by that pair of Nikes....swoosh that money out of their pocket. :disgust:

>zhong ghok

I dont know why Klingon keeps comming to mind when I read that.

>China has given every U.S. city a Chinese name

Ive also heard they plan to aim 1000 nuclear missles at the US when they have completed updating their systems.
How stupid can you be China? We taught Russia their lesson the hard way. Next up, China.

are you people stupid?
that website is CLEARLY propoganda

if you look at the FACTS you will realize that the chinese who make these things work in factories owned by NON CHINESE COMPANIES, companies from Britain and the US have tons of factories in China and they pay the Chinese virtualy nothing and the Chinese government doesn't get a hell of a lot of money from this. all the money goes to the companies who own the factores and not the government

i don't hate the people in china, just the government
if you really wanted all american products you would pay up the ass for half-fast quality material

you tend to make a better product when people say they won't pay you if you don't make them to this standard. such does not exist in the US. minimum wage in the US is like 6 bucks an hour so think about everything you buy costing about 20x as much

think twice about purchasing that $40,000 computer huh

to find out where all of the meterals were taken from..........

here's the scary part - when i was a kid, all the cheap sh*t toys and stuff were made in japan, and the same with electronics and cars - really basic stuff that was cheap - sound familiar? now japan makes the Lexus and the aibo dog, etc etc etc - high end high quality stuff. now china is making all the really cheap toys and stuff. i wonder whats going to be coming out of china in about 30 years...yikes!!! can you say economic superpower.

I remember when Sam Walton was alive. You would walk through wal-mart and see numerous "this product was made in America and created 300 jobs" signs. Now 95% of the stuff at walmart comes fom China.

Propoganda or not, most of it is accurate

By hiring all these Chinese workers and opening productions plants there, we're building up China's economy as we speak to record proportions. We're building up their economy so they can build a massive destructive military and nuclear power so they can come to the west and then kill us all! It's quite simple...

BUY CHINA = DEATH!

So what am I going to do? Buy a new computer, and most of the parts will probably be from China, but at least I'll be able to get 8500 in 3DMark 2001 when the real bombs start flying!

<< The worst offender is Motorola. They invest more money in China that any other U.S. corporation. >>

that's because CEO aren't as rock headed as you are. China has the world's largest market and almost 70% of world's investment money is going to china right now.

btw, you probably don't know China mobile corp. has more subscribers than any other telecom company in US. nobody cares about US market now.

Those Motorola CEO's will feel rock headed when thier technology is stolen and re-branded under a chinese name.

Am I seeing a deja vu of late 80's and early 90's when japanese companies acquired major US companies and real estates? Some americans shouted their jingoistic rant out loud: japanese are coming, bla bla bla bla. But look what's happened. Japanese economy was stagnant in the 90's while US was thriving.

US has been a leading economic power thru innovations not but being a protectionist.

For these countries, cheap labors are an important economic resource they have. How are they going to pay for american made medicines, medical supplies, heavy machineries, airplanes, etc. that they import?

Seek fairness not whininess (is this a word)!
