Is Fallout New Vegas worth $10?

You'd have to hate this game to not drop $10 on it. That's a great deal, on a great open-world RPG.

Just to pile on, I liked it better than FO3, and l loved FO3. Even though I'm in the middle of a bunch of AAA games, I fired up a new game of NV, just because I missed it.

I tried FO3 and definitely didn't get $10 out of it. Bethesda just sucks at the whole "gameplay" aspect of all their games, it completely turns me off from them.

Absolutely worth it. I'd highly recommend getting the 4 main DLC packs as well, or the ultimate edition cause those add a lot more to the game and I enjoyed them all.

Good thing about these types of games, is that you'll get a ton of playtime cause there's a ton of stuff to do.

I really enjoyed it...like, a lot. Better than Fallout 3, easily, and a lot more fun. Just more memorable than the original (fallout 3). I never really played the first few games, and tried to buy them later, and couldn't really get into them because of the graphics. Anyway, i really enjoyed both games. New Vegas was pretty damn fun. Had a ton more personality than the original also.

Responding to what people said above, I thought Fallout 3 was a great game and the DLC was fun as well but for some reason I enjoyed the world and atmosphere of that game more than I enjoyed the New Vegas one. I'm mainly talking about the run down city, the metro tunnels, Rivet City etc.

Both games are awesome regardless. I just hope they make a new game soon lol.

I paid $40 and never regretted it. It has less content that Fallout 3 and one of the DLCs is possibly the worst thing I've ever experienced in gaming, but the writing and especially the voice acting is much better than Fallout 3 in my opinion. So I ended up liking them about the same. Both are great games that can be played as first person shooters - in fact, one can get a mod to make the combat strictly player skill rather than character skill. Even full price for a great game with 150+ hours of play and great replayability (especially with mods) is a bargain.

Personally I found that New vegas had more content than 3, but I guess it depends from person to person. As for the dlc, was it dead money you hated, because I couldn't bear that DLC, I just activated god mode and ran through it as quick as possible.

I played a huge chunk of it three or four months ago (still have to get back in and finish), and I don't recall running into anything significant.

The major bugs have been fixed by now, having recently put 80 hours into the game and the only bugs I encountered were minor/amusing things - like NPCs clipping through the floor etc. Also if you play the PC version (which I would recommend) you can fix/get around any potential bugs using the console commands. I made the mistake of getting fallout 3 on the Xbox (because I didn't have a decent PC then) and put 50 hours into the game before it bugged out on the last mission for me and made me unable to complete the game!!
