Meat = noun
meaty = adjective

Adjectives affect nouns, even if the effect effect is preposterous or oxymoronic. Adjectives don't 'define' nouns.

When I talk about having wood, it doesn't mean I'm actually made of wood. Same with a meaty tomato.

The difference between meat and fish:

You can't beat your fish. If you did it would die.

"Meaty tomato": a tomato that has the bulk, density, and feel of meat. "Meaty" is the adjective, "tomato" is the noun.

"having wood": a euphemism for an erection. "Having" is the verb, "wood" is the noun. But we've already established that it's a euphemism, so of course the noun should not be taken literally.

Wikipedia:

Meat is animal flesh that is used as food.[1] Most often, this means the skeletal muscle and associated fat, but it may also describe other edible tissues such as organs, livers, skin, brains, bone marrow, kidneys or lungs.[1] The word meat is also used by the meat packing and butchering industry in a more restrictive sense?the flesh of mammalian species (pigs, cattle, etc.) raised and prepared for human consumption, to the exclusion of fish, poultry, and eggs.

Makes sense to me. It's like the word "earth". On one hand, it means the planet we are on, but it also specifically means "dirt", as opposed to water, even though most of the planet is covered with water.

Anything that comes from an animal is meat. Cow meat, chicken meat, fish meat, it's all the same. I don't know anybody who's dumb enough to think it's NOT meat.

Well we would post pics of our meat but then get banned so we have to describe it.
