China itself as a whole may have one of the largest economies on the globe, but that doesn't mean they're anywhere near as rich as the United State in comparison.
If you alone make $50k/yr annually, and donate $1k or 2% of your income to charity... and your neighbor who supports 3 kids and makes 25k/yr annually and donates $500 or 2%, do you still sit there acting smug because you perceive yourself as doing more good than your neighbor?
