What brought death to bacteria and mollusks? Did Bacteria Adam and Mollusk Eve fuck things up for themselves?Sin is what brought death into the human life story, and sadly, everyone will have to experience it. The good news is that death doesn't have to be the end of the human life story for those who choose wisely:
~~~~~
Romans 5:12
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned
Hebrews 9:27-28
And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him.
~~~~~
As I shared before, this first death is the only one that is guaranteed. In the bible, the earthly death is literally the separation of the real you (which is a spirit) from your body that it is housed in. Your body then returns to being dust while you the spirit continue on for eternity:
~~~~~
Genesis 2:7 <Before Adam sinned....>
Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
Genesis 3:19 <After Adam sinned....>
"By the sweat of your face you will eat bread, till you return to the ground, because from it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”
~~~~~
As I mentioned in the link above on this sub-topic, it is the second death that is optional, and it is literally infinitely worse than the first one. As terrible as the first death is when the spirit separates from its body, you don't want to be permanently separated from your Creator (who will honor your choice if that's what you want), which is what the second death represents when all unrepentant sinners are cast into hell away from Him forever.
It is at that time that death is done away with once and for all, never to return:
~~~~~
Revelation 20:14
Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.
Is there a story you can tell me about it?
Hogwash, according to your own book, the god chose to murder all those people. Yes, that's how Mother will rid her world of the Human Parasite.So, the deaths of countless innocents were acceptable collateral damage to this 'higher being' in its zest to cleanse the world of those that were misbehaving. What an asshole.
Do you believe the story of Noah is the literal truth?According to God's own book (I didn't write it), this is what the world was like before He wiped out everyone but Noah and his family with the flood:
~~~~~
Genesis 6:5
Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Genesis 6:9b
Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his time; Noah walked with God.
Genesis 6:11-13
Now the earth was corrupt in the sight of God, and the earth was filled with violence. God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth. Then God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence because of them; and behold, I am about to destroy them with the earth. "
~~~~~
Did God immediately destroy the wicked when he made the judgment above? No, in fact He did the opposite. He exhibited great patience in hopes that the evil people of the world would turn to him and away from their foul lives, just like He is doing for many people reading this message. People lived a lot longer back then, and the bible tells us He waited 120 years before the first drop of doomsday rain fell on the earth to exact His vengeance on sinners who continually defied Him:
~~~~~
1 Peter 3:20b
"...when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water. "
Genesis 6:3
And the Lord said, "My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years."
~~~~~
The Lord is longsuffering (according to many verses in His word), but He doesn't suffer rebellion forever as you can see. According to Jesus, human society in the last days before He returns will be just as bad after His followers are first taken away and protected from God's wrath like Noah and His family:
~~~~~
Luke 17:26-30
"And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed."
~~~~~
More specifically, in what ways will the world be "like the days of Noah"? The scriptures describe the hearts of everyone left behind after the rapture in several places, including here:
~~~~~
2 Timothy 3:1-4
"But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God"
~~~~~
That will be seven straight years of a world filled with people completely focused on evil works. Even then, God doesn't destroy them all at once. During this time, He will send plague after plague to torment and kill many wicked haters of God, in hopes that it will finally encourage them to submit and repent.
For some it will work and they will give their lives to the Lord... but most of these will be killed by the world government. Beheading is mentioned as punishment for not worshipping Satan and the antichrist and for not receiving their mark of 666 in Revelation 20:4. As for the rest of the world, they will not honor the warning that doom is coming to them as well. They will still hate God and stay in rebellion as they suffer in unspeakable ways. Example:
~~~~~
Revelation 9:18 & 20-21
"A third of mankind was killed by these three plagues... the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, so as not to worship demons, and the idols of gold and of silver and of brass and of stone and of wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk; and they did not repent of their murders nor of their sorceries <drug use> nor of their immorality nor of their thefts."
~~~~~
Literally a third of the earth at this time is destroyed, and most of the remaining two thirds bitterly continue to embrace their own evilness! No doubt some of them will scream and shout blasphemous accusations towards the Lord similar to what we've read in this thread (and far worse), but if the mercy of God won't save them and the demonstrated wrath of God won't save them, the question for the truly hardhearted out there is simply this: what will encourage you to accept a relationship with your Savior?
The answer is "nothing" for many, so God will sadly accept that choice and allow such a person to spend eternity without Him in the lake of fire.
First. You’re weird. Second, your wall of circular reading is borderline delusional. I just wonder where all the rain came from to raise sea levels maybe 29 thousand feet so you could drown all those iniquitous Tibetans and where it could have gone afterward. Plus, I really find it difficult to attribute sinfulness to babies and young children. Also DNA samples from around the world don't seem to show an eight person bottle-neck around Biblical times.So what's your take on the existence of dinosaurs and things like that? How old is the earth?
I believe the account that the bible describes that the world became so increasingly and insufferably evil that God decided to wipe them out with a great flood. The only survivors were Noah, his wife, and their three sons and their wives. I believe it when Jesus said (as I quoted above) that the world will again become that wicked after the Christians are taken away before judgement comes once again in the future.Do you believe the story of Noah is the literal truth?
It's impossible for me to convert anyone. That's the job of the Holy Spirit. If I had a different plan or you had a different plan (or anyone else) for how life on this earth and well into eternity should play itself out, I believe it would be inadequate to the plan that God has, is, and will continue to put forth.I hope you're not trying to convert folks in this forum. If not, then what is it you're trying to do here? Quoting scripture is literally passing the buck. Seems to me you need to tell us what you feel from your heart to make a solid argument for your case.
Of course dinosaurs walked the earth. The bible mentions great beasts in passing, so the topic isn't ignored even though not brought up as a major focal point of discussion:So what's your take on the existence of dinosaurs and things like that? How old is the earth?
He makes his tail stiff like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are knit together. His bones are tubes of bronze, his limbs like bars of iron. He is the first of the works of God"
How old is the earth? I have no idea. The bible doesn't specifically say as far as I know. Aside from quoting the first chapter of Genesis which describes the creation of the physical universe (which I posted up above a bit ago), here are some other verses to consider when pondering over the question:
~~~~~
Psalms 90:4
"For a thousand years in Your sight are but as yesterday when it is past, or as a watch in the night."
2 Peter 3:8
"But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day."
Psalms 90:2
"Before the mountains were brought forth or You had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting You are God."

We see two important points of consideration here. The first is that time is experiences completely different by God than it does for the rest of us. In a way, that concept shouldn't be surprising since the theory of relativity states that time slows down as the physical observer moves faster through space. Applying this idea to the first two scriptures above makes it clear that perception of seconds, minutes, days, months, years, and even millennium play out differently depending on other factors involved, including who is doing the observation and what "state" they are in.
Beyond that, the third verse above emphasizes the point that the Lord is not bound by time (which He created BTW) in any way, shape, or form. That's what the phrase "everlasting to everlasting" represents. He has no beginning and no end. Here's another example from His word:
~~~~~
Isaiah 57:15
For thus says the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: "I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite.
Yes, it is stating that God is eternal both in the past and for the future. More importantly though, it also mentions something else. No matter which individual we can think of, that verse right there is filled with encouragement for that individual's life on earth as well as their life in the eternity beyond if they accept a relationship with their Creator.
It doesn't matter the race, age or gender of the person. It doesn't matter which country they are from or how much money they make (or don't make). It doesn't matter if they lived thousands of years ago, are alive somewhere today, or those whose earthly life will begin at some point in the future.
The verse is making clear that the One who literally made EVERYTHING in this physical universe... potentially billions of stars, millions of planets, an immeasurable amount of space poured out over the furthest reaches of the most distant galaxies... He cares about you. Compared to the size of the physical universe, you are less than a speck of dust in your existence. Compared to the eternal, infinite length of time describing God's presence, your time in this life is infinitesimally small.
Psalm 8:4
"What is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?"
~~~~
He cares for you! David, God's much-loved king of Israel recognized how much he was cared for when he said this after the Lord made a special promise to him and his descendants:
~~~~~
2 Samuel 7:18
Then David the king went in and sat before the LORD and said, “Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my house that You have brought me this far?"
~~~~~
Who are any of us who are so greatly insignificant in any way we can think of compared to the Creator of everything? Yet that same Creator stills cares for each and every individual person. There is no detail too small, no aspect of your life that is so tiny that He doesn't take tremendous interest in, to which He responds with grace, compassion, mercy, correction/discipline and love. David recognized this as well when he was led to write this in the bible with awe and humility about how much God cares about him:
~~~~~
Psalm139:1-18
O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thought from afar. You scrutinize my path and my lying down, and are intimately acquainted with all my ways. Even before there is a word on my tongue, behold, O Lord, You know it all.
You have enclosed me behind and before, and laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is too high, I cannot attain to it. Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend to heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol <realm of the dead>, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the dawn, if I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, even there Your hand will lead me, and Your right hand will lay hold of me. If I say, “Surely the darkness will overwhelm me, and the light around me will be night,” even the darkness is not dark to You, and the night is as bright as the day.
Darkness and light are alike to You. For You formed my inward parts; you wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth; your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them.
How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand. When I awake, I am still with You.
~~~~~~
Despite the immensity of the universe as well as the good, bad and ugly that is going on in the world, God cares about you. This passage confirms that the Lord had a complete plan for your entire life before there was even a day of life in you. It states that you were "fearfully and wonderfully made" when He created you with the love and affection that He still has at this moment.
~~~~~
1 Peter 5:7
"Cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you."
~~~~~
What does He ask from you in return? Nothing. Simply accept His offer of forgiveness for the sins you committed since Jesus already paid the price for them with His death on the cross and resurrection three days later. He did all the work so that you can enjoy all the benefits:
~~~~~
John 3:16-17
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him."
