Is it bad for me if I take pepto-bismal or immodium AD daily?

I absolutely hate going #2 in public places, including at work. But some time I get the water - you know what, and have to go right away. I've recently been taking immodium AD every day, and this problem never happens - I poop in the morning before work, and never, ever have to go again before I get home.

Any problems with taking either of these on a daily basis?

I could only imagine that taking something everyday like that isn't going to be good for.

There is a physiological name for the fear of going in public places. Perhaps a shrink visit will help. Oh, I remember the name now. Shy bow syndrome or something.

No no no, there is no "fear" of going in public places. I do it all the time. I just hate putting my butt where some other guys's nasty butt was sitting 10 minutes before. Just hoping to try and minimize this.

I hate going #2 in any other bathroom other than my own. I made it through almost all of schooling without going poop at the school. I'd always make it home. Of course if I am out and must go I will. But it's very rare outside of times such as travel/vacations.

I've told this story once before but this is as good a thread as any to tell it again. I was in Morocco driving the route of the kasbahs with my gf. We had rented a car. I had eaten something that unsettled my stomach and started to have to go poop. Quite badly. This is a fairly remote section of Morocco and there were no options at that particular section. As it's getting harder and harder to hold it and I am shaking quenching my sphincter this little roadside hut appeared. I park and go inside about to shit myself. It's a little convenience store with three guys talking at the register. I ask for the bathroom and they point to a hanging sheet just a few feet away. There is no toilet, just a porcelain lined hole in the ground with two places to put your feet and squat on. I'd seen these toilets before in China but never used them for #2 since I always made it back to the hotel in order to go. No such luxury here, so I squatted down and just let my ass explode, with nothing but a thin sheet between me and a few dudes. It was glorious. I didn't hear any snickering so all was well. I cleaned up, walked out, said thank you and got back in the car to drive to the Sahara.
